I finally took photos of two or three other wildflowers yesterday. I am so far behind with flower photography, unlike the last few years - blame the birds this year, ha! Even so, I somehow just can't get "into it", which is not good. This is such a beautiful flower, adding delightful splashes of colour to hillsides. This particular flower was photographed during yesterday's walk at Bebo Grove, Fish Creek Park. I always find it difficult to find one in "perfect" condition, and I was with friends, so couldn't really take time to search. Also, we were walking on a steep, crumbling hillside, so I was more concerned on keeping my footing : )
This one's for you, Doug (dougwaylett) - we all miss you, even more than ever now that the wildflowers are in bloom and there is hope of finding the very occasional mushroom. Lichens are in splendid colour all around us - and our thoughts always go to you. I know you loved blue flowers : )
This photograph is one of my favorites. These three anis were huddled close to each other at daybreak at Cuffie Rainforest Retreat in Tobago.

All of the casting flaws, scratches and scrapes have been removed wherever possible. Some deeper marks are still visible which might be expected from something that is used, abused and 43 years old.
Music for the event was provided by The Garrett Perkins Project. Local band who have produced a few jazz cds.
One of my favorite local smooth jazz bands.

(An aside: why does Mcdonalds want to put cream and sugar in our coffee? More to the point, why do they think that were fed up with the arduous chore that putting sugar and cream in a hot beverage has become? Are there really people who will see this, and choose Mcdonalds over establishments where you still have to do this your self. Either its a New York thing: they want to be like the Deli's who will give you a little cream and some sugar when you ask for a "regular coffee". Or, it's because in the vast majority of the cases these days it you buy a cup of coffee to go--takeaway--at McDonalds you are going to get in your car and drive. Adding cream and sugar while driving is something people do, but it's probably as about as healthy as a big Mac.)
