I've always had the opportunity to view other photographers produce such beautiful photographs where the clouds and the waters are silky smooth and the motion effects added to awesomeness. This time around, I got the chance to play around with all those techniques and this is the first output. Hope y'all like it.
The first couple of days after we left Madeira the ocean was a little rough but it calmed down quite a bit and we had smooth sailing the rest of the way. If you've got to cross the Atlantic these are the seas you want to have, just ask Alex L:

This was shot off the balcony railing with my 18-55 kit lens cranked up to f/29 with 2 seconds on the clock and my NDF filter attached and set at the full 10 stops. Wanted to get that silky water effect. Not sharp but you should remember we were traveling at 17-18 knots at the time.
Probably the highlight of the herping year for me! This species is incredibly hard to come by in this region, and i saw TWO of them today! I am still shaking in excitement!

After the mini heatwave, the Dorset reptiles came to life and It was wonderful to spot this newborn Smooth snake. Normally they are very well hidden, and I have to scan small areas with binoculars to spot them. There was an adult a few feet away, but basking safely under the dead gorse and bracken and barely visible, I'm presuming a female and possibly the Mother of this one. Despite looking closely, we could only see the one, but I'm sure there would be others nearby. Spotted some freshly born adders a few metres away, one just sloughing it's skin with the afterbirth nearby. Photographed in situ and left undisturbed and as found.
It was raining today. I went into our laneway to take photos off the puddles in the cobblestones and surrounding area.
Could have been todays 365 but I'm not completely certain about it. Tell me what you think, and be honest, if you don't like it, tell me! (also tell me why, though).
I was recently featured in a blog here take a look if you want to learn more about me. I also talk about how great all you guys are, so have a read!

We went out playing with our new ND filter today. It was an amazing day and we were up fairly early. The day was so amazing that there wasn't a cloud in the sky which left it a bit bland and it is as nice to see the clouds in motion as it is to see the water smoothed over by the slow exposure time. Also they would have given the sky a bit more texture. We have a tone of locations for later in the spring when the leaves get some green as the color is a bit bland at the moment. There will be more to come!
Photo of cascade below the lower falls at Triple Falls near Brevard, NC. Used a Lee Little Stopper (6-stop ND) filter to get a 13 sec exposure.
