Smithsonian Zoo in Washington D.C.

This is only the second time I've seen the Zoo's beaver. The keeper's put out some wood for him, but he was uninterested in it and just kept swimming laps. He is apparently very old and most of his family that used to live at the Zoo with him has passed away, including 2 earlier in the year.

I wish I could have seen the lion up close. He was keeping his distance.

Scary emu is scary.

It is required by law, I believe, to take photos of people at the zoo while posed upon animal statuary.

The keeper put bits of meat in different places throughout the enclosure for the otters to hunt out and eat.
