Last week, my poor 3GS 16GB iPhone met its maker by hitting the concrete outside, face first.
Getting a replacement soon and using my first gen in the meantime, but ouch...
Oh and it's in a baggy because it was shedding shards of glass everywhere. And yes, I made a phonecall with the phone in the bag. I'm classy that way!
[Update: on 5th March, I went in to the Apple Store and got a replacement for £139. All sorted!]
I noticed this inkblot yesterday on my way home from work, and 24 hours later the stain was still visible on the St. George platform. A robust red, with a lingering after-image.
Whilst waiting waiting to pick up our latest volunteer from the railway station I wandered about looking for possible shots for this weeks theme. I spotted this pile of shattered windscreen glass which was at my feet!
Taken at an abandoned motel.
Stole This From My Son :))
The Trecastle Motel & Services is an abandoned motel, café, fuel station and truck stop just outside Sennybridge, Mid Wales, also known as Greystone's motel. It was placed up for sale in the early '90's after the owner ran into financial difficulty, but a buyer was not found and it closed down in 1995. The local Council are basically to blame ( yet again ) for their lack of vision and their inability to see the broader picture. It has in recent times been a home for the travelling communities and now is home to local sheep.

I come out of my room to the sound of something smashing and one of the cats somehow smashed a plate that was already sitting on the ground. Still not entirely sure how they could have done it without one of them running, tripping on it and sending it, ice-hockey style toward the wall.
The Toe Nail is off! See the hole, I drilled that myself. When my toe was swollen and hurting, that hole let the fluids out and provided immediate pain relief.
location unknown derailment - steel open wagons loaded with coal on side - smashed timber wagons in background (Trevor King Collection - Murray Billett Collection mb-b22-17)
Since you flickr people seem to love trucking pix. This is a smash trailer, you can see the landing gear point out to the side. It's not suppost to be like that. This trailer was dropped while being pulled across a rail yard. Not by me!

This railway engine carries the registration 'R.E.B.K. 27 / Peronne.' It has been derailed and suffered extensive damage. It is possible this engine was part of a German supply train transporting large quantities of wood. A similar photograph in the collection shows the damaged carriages, which according to the caption were shelled by the British. French trains were commandeered by both sides during the war.

A very springy dish:
smashed pea torrada (toast), black trumpet mushrooms, shaved manchego and snap pea salad
We had a different version of this at Steve's birthday dinner in February with pumpkin instead of peas and different greens on the side. It had been one of my favorites of that meal. This was also really good, and the freshness of the salad with a little acid (and kumquats!) complemented the toasts nicely.
