Our Business
When your electronics have reached the end of their useful life, we help you properly dispose of them. We accomplish this by partnering with local recyclers in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, who embody best practices when “breaking down” e-waste and other toxic chemicals (Barium, Cadmium, Lead, Lithium, Nickel, Mercury, etc.).
All e-waste recieved by Tri Valley Recyclers is processed in the state of California. We never dump in landfills.
Data Destruction
Alisal Recycler offers two types of data destruction services:
1) HD Wipe ™
Data disks are digitally wiped. This process is repeated multiple times, using proprietary measures, ensuring 100% destruction of all files.
2) HD Crush ™
Data disks are physically shredded, using mechanical hardware. 100% reliability. Our premier data destruction offering.

E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their “useful life.” Computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled.
With the passage of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 , certain portions of the electronic waste stream are defined and the systems to recover and recycle them will be administratively regulated beyond the universal waste rulesthat apply to material handling. This former Albertsons was directly across the street from another Albertsons own store, Max Foods. In 2007, Albertsons closed down the former Max Foods, and remodeled the store into a new Albertsons. This store site was closed for several months until Smart and Final took over.
This is a Smart and Final Extra Store, which is a hybrid warehouse/supermarket. Also located on the shopping center lot is a Union 76 Gas Station, a Dennys Restaurant, Misc. shops, and a Hometown Buffet.
Located in Montebello on Wilcox off the 60 Freeway.

After JONS closed the store after many years of operation, it was gutted and replaced by Smart and Final Grocery Warehouse. It was repainted grey on the outside. Smart and Final operated the store from around 2004 until early this year, when it closed. It currently houses a Goodwill Thrift Store. Smart and Final kept the original Art Deco outside of the store. Located at 1500 W. 6th Street in Los Angeles California. Across the street is a K.F.C. Restaurant.
Former Zodys Department Store that closed in 1980's and subdivided. This site was taken over by Albertsons and operated under the name of Grocery Warehouse and later Max Foods. Albertsons had originally operated a store in this same shopping center until it moved next door into the Zodys building. The former Albertsons is now a Office Depot. In 1999, Albertsons took over Lucky Supermarkets, which had a store across the street. The Lucky became an Albertsons and operated until November 21,2007. All appliances or “white goods” (clothes washers/dryers, refrigerators, ovens, water heaters, air conditioners, etc) become valuable sources of scrap metal when they are no longer wanted. However, some components in appliances contain hazardous materials that can damage human health and the environment if they are not removed and properly managed. Hazardous components may include: encapsulated polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs); Freon, Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydro-chlorofluorocarbons (HCFC) and other refrigerants; mercury in switches and temperature control devices; Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) in metal-encased capacitors; used oil from compressors and transmissions; and any other material that is a regulated hazardous waste. Please dispose of these items properly.

What We Do
Due to the rapid advancement in technology, electronics equipment is experiencing increasingly shorter periods of "useful-life." This has resulted in a surplus of Electronic Waste that, unfortunately, gets dumped into landfills (releasing toxic chemicals into the soil) or shipped to third world countries for disposal.

This former Lucky Supermarket has been operating as an Albertsons since 1999. It is now in the process of a closing sale, which ends on November 21, 2007. Albertsons has another property across the street, which operated for many years as a warehouse formatted store under the Max Foods Banner which closed and is in the final process of being remodeled into an Albertsons.

Fluorescent Lights
The recycling of fluorescent lights and high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps is a proven technology capable of reliably recovering greater than 99% of the mercury in the spent lights. Recovery begins by separating the components by a method such as the crush-and-sieve method. In this process, the spent tubes are first crushed and then sieved to separate the large particles from the mercury-containing phosphor powder. The phosphor powder is collected and processed under intense heat and pressure. The mercury is volatilized and then distilled to the required purity. The glass particles are segregated and recycled into fiberglass. Aluminum components are also segregated and recycled separately.

E-waste is a popular, informal name for electronic products nearing the end of their "useful life." Computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products. Many of these products can be reused, refurbished, or recycled.
With the passage of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 , certain portions of the electronic waste stream are defined and the systems to recover and recycle them will be administratively regulated beyond the universal waste rules that apply to material handling. March 26, 2020 - Our Shopping Trip to Smart and Final in Lakewood, CA. Look what Corona did to us, and we don't even drink Beer! We had difficulty trying to get more toilet paper, and only got this tiny pack. We also found paper napkins. But paper products in general were difficult to obtain during the panic shopping situation!

5205 Prospect Road in the West Valley Shopping Center.
This center was built in the 1960s and housed a Safeway. By the late 80s/early 90s they were both gone, Safeway relocated to Westgate Mall.
At that point Smart & Final and Old Navy moved into the space. Old Navy moved to Westgate in the mid 90s in part of the old JC Penney. If I recall, I remember there being a number of temp. stores in the Old Navy space, including a closeout bookseller and a Spirits Halloween Superstore.
Smart and Final moved out and into about 25,200 SF of space from Long's Drugs at the next door Westgate West, leaving Long's with 37,172 SF.
There also was Burger King in here as well (if in front of Old Navy, it was to the right on the corner where the building angled), they came back when the West Valley Center was re built, but closed recently, a Chipotle is now in it.
I also think Bank of America was and original tenant, they just had to close for a bit and reopened in the building at the corner of Saratoga and Prospect Avenues.
Blockbuster Video moved to West Valley Center from Westgate. The old Blockbuster at Westgate is now a Sleep Train Mattresses.
The only thing not demolished in the West Valley Center is the Frankie, Johnnie and Luigi Italian Restaurant (Former Sizzler and Bob's Big Boy)
Update: the Safeway that was above that went to Westgate Mall will be moving again, this time to the old Mervyn's on Hamilton Avenue and Marathon Drive. Construction/remodeling is set to began sometime soon on the existing Mervyn's building for Safeway to move in by the end of the year or early 2011.

Next to the Hillsdale Smart and Final Extra
Smart and Final is using the space as storage- there was more in this space when the heavy of the remodel was occurring.
This Kragen closed a few months back and is currently for lease. Back in the 90s this used to be a Bike Store and a Swensen's Ice Cream. I faintly remember the Swensen's, but remember its location, the bike store, we bought many a bikes there and helmets (we used to live like 2 minutes from this store)
I also miss Swensons, they made good ice cream and it was a nice ice cream parlor, too bad they are all gone now.

However, some components in appliances contain hazardous materials that can damage human health and the environment if they are not removed and properly managed. Hazardous components may include: encapsulated polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs); Freon, Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydro-chlorofluorocarbons (HCFC) and other refrigerants; mercury in switches and temperature control devices; Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) in metal-encased capacitors; used oil from compressors and transmissions; and any other material that is a regulated hazardous waste. Please dispose of these items properly.
