Shadow sits on his toy basket whenever I'm busy in the kitchen, since he's not allowed inside. He's able to sit atop his toy mountain and watch me as he falls asleep.

I made this photo of a pug dog lying on rattan furniture outside the back of its home a few blocks from where we live. I had stopped my car at the top of a set of neighborhood steps to take a few photos within a short distance. As I was photographing some San Francisco landmarks I saw this pug well below where I was standing. I used the telephoto capabilities of my Canon Powershot SX50 to capture the original image and this is the second crop, showing a closer look at the dog's face.
This little one was dressed for warmth on a cold fall day, and looked up as I shot his/her photo, as if to question why?!

these were the hit of the bbq tonight!
We are looking after this mature pooch for a while. There’s an outside chance of keeping Sugar. We’re not sure yet. She’s a sweet pupper, that’s for sure. I spent a good part of last night with her in my lap as she wasn’t feeling well. Donna took over around 3:00 a.m. until morning. As an aside, Sugar weighs just under eighteen pounds. Our Morkie, Pearl, is not quite five pounds.
p.s. We are more inclined now, as time goes on, to make our place Sugar’s forever home.
p.p.s. Sugar was acting out this evening and daughter, Amanda, threatened to demote her to Corn Syrup!

things have been pretty crazy around here lately, what with visiting dignitaries (scrivenings, bobby alcott, smalldogs), the constant sound of builders building, the carving of pumpkins, and the fleeing of cats. so florian and i decided to get away for a night. we drove for miles along the delaware water gap, getting lost at least four times, ending up at a b&b whose greatest surprise (besides the collapsing outhouse out back) was the pool table sitting quietly in the dining room. luckily the outhouse was no longer in use, but the pool table's balls were racked and ready to go. i asked florian if he wanted to play later; "sure," he mumbled.
after a thoroughly mediocre dinner at what could have been a nice brewery (but was in fact a dive bar with food), we went back to the land of chintz and started to play. initially we both sucked. and then... well, i continued to suck, but florian got good. and i mean GOOD. turns out he'd played a fair amount back in his college days, twenty-odd years ago.
we played three games, and he kicked my ass every single time. it was so fucking fabulous, watching him line up a shot and then nail it. you know where you hit the ball hard, and it stops short right after it makes contact with the target? yeah. that. a lotta balls went in a lotta pockets, and i loved the clacking-enamel sound of ball landing on ball, like rocks in amelie's pocket.
at one point i texted bowman and said we had to get a game going in town. "sure," he wrote back, "if you want to lose LOL. they call me 'the shark.'"
it is so ON.
well joise who i thought names was daisy had to get a hair cutt. she was really matted, I gave her these little jammies and they look so adorable on her. she was the cutest little pup i hope she boards again at work so i can see her.
These two adorable dogs belong to my best friend Sue, and they are inseparable. Jedediah the tiny chihuahua just loves big gentle dog Auggie... it is so funny to see them chasing each other around the tree in the back yard! Auggie is such a BIG dog, and Jedediah is so tiny! (This photo was taken by my best friend Sue, and cropped, retouched and enhanced by me - red eyes removed, distracting background painted out, etc.)
I really didn’t get the chance to make a better photo of this engaging little dog. Her markings make her so very special. Thanks to the owners for letting me make a few photos of Kiki.
The French Bulldog of my girlfriend .. really a cute Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) dog ! ☺
A lot of Sugar’s hair, is flecked here and there. Is she ever shedding! Pearl doesn’t shed, thanks the heavens.
This wasn’t the sharpest photo of a quick series that I took when Pearl got into a candid pose purely by chance. But it was by far the best expression of this happy pup.
