I thought I would try to edit something fancy. Getting Bebe to remain still was a challenge because she was sitting in a metal rocking chair and the big white sheet kept falling off her head. I managed to capture this while she was in the process of jumping down.
I made this photo of a scruffy looking dog sticking its head through a balcony railing as Melody and I were walking to our local public library several blocks from our San Francisco home. On our return trip, there were two little white dogs at the same house. I shot this using my Canon Powershot SX50.
One of the cutest looking dogs around is the Lhasa Apso. This is my dog Coco and here is a little research into the history of this breed.
Historically, Lhasa Apsos were kept by the monasteries and nobility in Tibet as indoor watch dogs. They would sleep by their masters and with their high intelligence plus keen sense of hearing, would warn of any intruders. Lhasa Apsos were never bought or sold in Tibet. Instead, the Dalai Lama sent Lhasa Apsos in pairs to the emperors of China as gifts. High ranking visitors to Tibet also received them as gifts.
They are also referred to as the little bark sentinel lion dogs since fully grown Lhasa Apsos could resemble small lions with all their hair. Lhasa Apso dogs can also behave very much like lions exhibiting no fear when confronted by strangers or even larger dogs.
Despite its small size with adult females reaching 12 to 16 pounds and adult males ranging from 14 to 18 pounds, they are extremely hardy as well as rugged. Having existed in the extreme temperatures of Tibet for centuries, they are well suited for and actually enjoy romps in the snow. They are also long lived.
I've had a few minutes photo-session with Cookie in my office, quite a few years ago. Cookie was comfortably sitting in my beloved leather chair, while I was fiddling with my old point & shoot camera settings. I think it's a good idea to vote for Cookie, before you end up with your pants or your dress ripped in the back.
I wouldn't wanna take a chance ;-)
This Chihuahua was making it very well known that I was not to approach his truck

I made this portrait of Lucy Spector's beloved dog Chibi, a long haired Dachshund who rarely left Mrs. Spector's side. Lucy and Chibi were faithful companions to each other. Lucy truly loved her Chibi dog. I shot this using my Canon Powershot SX50 on October 28, 2015, three day's before Lucy's 91st birthday during our last visit to her Hillsborough home. This is the second of a series of four photos from this visit.
May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

Meet Holly the 10 year old (does not act like a 10, more like a 5yo) Yorkie. one of our latest foster dogs and is available for adoption through www.myaarf.org
Believe it or not, this wee pup was TERRIFIED when he came in, it took some major psychology and calming, coaxing and a little good timing to get him posing like a pro model.
this was taken in a tiny 1.7m wide store room using shelves to support the 1.5m wide seamless, lights were a 50cm beauty dish (gridded) above, camera left at full power, bare SB28 at 1/4 bounced off white cupboard door as reflector for fill camera right and gridded SB26 at 1/8 high right (on top of a cupboard) all fired by skyports.
for smalldogs, who went out of her comfort zone to post a shot for me.
it only seemed fair that i do the same.
I found this on my computer. It's my yorkie Chloe when she was a little baby! Can't believe its been 2 and a half years :P
Could not resist a quick shot of our little Poodle tucked in the corner of our living room couch yesterday. She’s a friendly, funny, female fuzz ball.
I had no idea such a thing existed but here it is - a booster seat for small dogs so they are secure (harness clips to strap on back) and can see the world go by. Chuck was disappointed we didn't go for a drive. Jan. 2017.
She’s a Maltese and Yorkshire Terrier mix. They are also called, “Morkies,” for the uninitiated. Pearl is a year old and weighs barely three and a half pounds. She is also faster than a Kentucky Derby champion! Let’s add to that, faster than a proverbial speeding bullet.
This shot shows our little pupper just out of the tub and wrapped up in a towel.
