The New River, is neither new, nor a river, but an aqueduct which was constructed when the poet and dramatist William Shakespeare was still alive, to bring fresh water into the City Centre. The automated leaf catching system on the River seems to have been deactivated, and in consequence the River is sludging up really badly. So now the hens are able to stroll across the surface of the sludge.
A received a reissue G1 Snarl for my birthday recently, so Sludge has a pal to hang out with now. I was surprised as Snarl has a die cast torso, whereas Sludge doesn't. Very cool feeling that weight again. I have to finish his stickers off; I think I put his rubsign in the wrong spot (isn't it usually on the vehicle mode?)

Longannet power station is a large coal-fired power station in Fife capable of co-firing biomass, natural gas and sludge. The station is situated on the north bank of the Firth of Forth, near Kincardine on Forth.
Its generating capacity of 2,400 megawatts is the highest of any power station in Scotland. The station began generating electricity in 1970, and when it became fully operational it was the largest coal-fired station in Europe. It is now the third largest, after Bełchatów in Poland and Drax in England, and the 21st most polluting.
After failing to win a contract from the National Grid Longannet is set to close "by March 2016". The station was opened in 1973 and operated by the South of Scotland Electricity Board until 1990 when its operation was handed over to Scottish Power following privatisation.
The station is a regional landmark, dominating the Forth skyline with its 183 m (600 ft) chimney stack. Longannet lacks cooling towers, instead using water from the River Forth for cooling

Went for a walk out by the old neglected bowls club. Brought my newly acquired FED 5 with me to give it a try. Rangefinder was out by a bit for these photos. I have since rectified the problem...I think.
Don't know what has caused the stream to have that lovely colour and consistency, I didn't want to get too close to figure it out.

The ship and its fleetmates were used to convey sewage out into Liverpool Bay for dumping. Often referred to as "banana boats"!
