Chicago Sanitary District's pristine SW-1 #3 comes back from the dumping fields with thirteen empties. Upon returning to the treatment plant, they would turn and burn with another 13 cars of dehydrated sludge.
Approaching the treatment plant (from the downwind side!) brought to mind that garbage compactor scene from A New Hope when Han Solo looks at Chewie and sarcastically says "what an incredible smell you've discovered!"

Haven't taken that many photos recently. I've been trying to watch more movies and books that I never opened after purchasing. Also working on finding more freelance jobs cause favs and views aren't paying bills (I wish that were the case tho...)
I "watched" this movie called 'Origin' but it was so mindnumpingly bad that I had to leave the theater after 45 minutes. A movie critic on RogerEberts website gave it a 4 out of 4 but the average movie-goer gave it 1-2 stars (I gave it 1/2 a star out of 5). I don't mind movies with a slow pace but this movie just had a terrible script.
Took a photo of a ballpoint pen spring and placed into Photoshop and adjusted the contrast and some sharpening using high pass filter and then setting to overlay. Placed into Topaz Studio 2 and used precision contrast and precision detail in small amounts, then used color overlay to get the slight pink color, then added a Topaz texture for the lightning effect and then added two more textures that I had previously made, 1. A water effect and 2. A sludge on the water effect. Some minor adjustments in Photoshop to complete the photo for Slider Sunday………………… Happy Slider Sunday

Year Of No Light formed in 2001 in Bordeaux (Fr). With their first album, Nord, YONL have proven adept a shifting seamlessly between genres, balancing post-rock, sludge, somber psychedelics and crushing dark shoegaze.
In 2010, now backed by two drums, 3 guitars, the band released its second album, Ausserwelt, oscillating between drone, doom, post-rock, black metal and progressive rock.
Zur Versorgung des in Hagen-Kabel gelegenen Stora-Enso-Papierwerks mit Kreideschlamm verkehrt ein aus den markanten Knick-Kesselwagen gebildeter Ganzzug zwischen dem slowenischen Jesenice und Schwerte. Die Traktionierung übernimmt hierbei das Salzburger Unternehmen SETG über den gesamten Laufweg hinweg. Die Züge verkehren in der Regel zwei mal pro Woche, allerdings als Sonderleistung. Daher gibt es keine festen Fahrzeiten, nach denen man sich richten könnte. Am Vortag hatte ich schon die Gelegenheit, die Fahrt ins Ruhrgebiet im Maintal zu dokumentieren. Am 05. Oktober 2018 gelang darüber hinaus ein Bild der Rückleistung nach Slowenien. Bei Harrbach wanderte 193 204 mit ihrem an diesem Tage recht kurzen Zug auf die Speicherkarte, den Lokführer freute es sichtlich.
To supply the Stora-Enso paper mill located in Hagen-Kabel with chalk sludge, a block train consisting of special tank cars runs between the Slovenian Jesenice and Schwerte. Traction is provided by the Salzburg-based company SETG over the entire way. The trains usually run twice a week, but as a special service. Therefore, there are no fixed times to follow. So I was happy on October 05th 2018 when I was able to take a picture of the referred train once again at the Main valley. It was hauled by SETG's 193 204, which was probably recently washed. This engine shows motifs on its sides reminiscent of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - the most famous son of the city of Salzburg. The train driver also seemed happy to have a picture of him at work when he passed my photo-spot at Harrbach.

Happened to see this totally macabre, gross and neglected old fountain, full of sludge and slime. UGH !! The water making a mist of yellow water was running over it’s face. It looked so bizarre and pitiful, I almost felt sorry for it. I thought it was worth a shot.

In My Garden .... This frog lives in an old belfast sink at the top of my garden. How it survives is a miracle, as the water in the old sink is the consistency of sludge!

The Ridgeway teems with walkers on warm days in summer, but in autumn, its chalky surface becomes a quagmire, and farm vehicles leave ruts which petrify the following summer. Throughout the winter, it is possible to have the Ridgeway to yourself, with no company but a hound dashing through the leaf litter, and a pair of ravens who haunt the downs to the east. The low afternoon sun lights the way to Wayland's Smithy. On the colder days, when the wind whistles down the Ridgeway and the last of the beech leaves settle in the sludge, the chambered tomb is deserted - except for the great hulk of spirit who sits outside its megalithic entrance, like the Green Knight, waiting outside his green chapel with his whetted axe.
Stand still and wait. Perhaps he may invite you to stoop inside.

This is a foculation tank. It is used to treat poo. Basically everything on the ship is reduced, as much as possible, to constituent components and either recycled or burned. Ashes are taken ashore and carefully controlled 'sludge' (left over food courtesy of greedy fat Americans who take more than they can eat) is released into the ocean. I have been assured that the ship is very environmentally friendly.
I saw this and couldn't possibly not take a picture of this sludge gulper.

This was not what I was hoping for, but the bright sunny day made up for it. Larry's Trucking #3011, is a new kid on the block at Mass Coastal. I'm not sure the heritage of this unit. Possibly an ex Milwaukee Road GP40?? Anyway, after a light engine move to New Bedford, MA, the crew goes to work in "Dirty Dirt" yard a the shipyards to remove the toxic sludge.
And with that, the Halloween season is over!

Having seen this loco earlier heading up to Hindlow Quarry with a train of loaded stone, we now see the result of the limestone sludge that covered the loco. 66620 is running round its train, which is near Great Rocks Jcn, and is about to pull up near Peak Forest Signal Box before heading back to its train.
