I sent these as part of the 5 Slowcooker Recipes Swap via SwapBot. I wish I could take credit for these super cute cards, but alas I cannot! I printed these as part of the demo recipe card maker at Alenka's printables. :)
I ended up mixing a small can of diced fire-roasted tomatoes with some red wine vinegar, a wee bit of brown sugar, garlic, paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and salt in the crock. I then rolled the beef shoulder roast in it, and topped it with onions and carrots. It will now marinate in the fridge overnight (the liquid almost reaches the top of the roast and I put some of it on top of it). I added frozen green beans during the last 1/2 hour.
Cut the peppers. For my cacciatore I prefer to use mostly red peppers along with some green. I use a one red to a half green.
I use moderate sized portabella mushrooms that I quarter.

I set out to write a post about the progress of our winemaking and slow cooking. My fans were screaming for gratuitous shots of Salma Hayek's cleavage. I hope I fulfilled both requirements:

My wife and I have a tradition where we eat ham, baked beans and macaroni and cheese on Christmas Eve.

i left the meat in some of the sauce and kept it warm, while i reduced the rest of the sauce down and flaked the meat back into it! served on mashed potatoes, what a treat! My husband wants ribs done in the same sauce now, hehe =)
