I've always thought that Central Library was too far a walk until last week.
It takes all of 10 minutes from work and as we get 40 minutes for lunch, I finally got a book to read for free without flicking through Waterstones or Borders on a lunchtime.
My last book was Motley Crue 'The Dirt' and that fascinated me as does Slash's story.
Oh.....and Cath and Eleanor are away for the weekend, leaving Alex and me 'Home Alone'
Singer Myles Kennedy belts out a tune with guitar hero Slash who brought a little bit of Paradise City to 1,625 fans at the soldout Thunder Bay Community Auditorium Monday night with his band Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. The rocker celebrated his 47th birthday as well with cake backstage and audience members waving happy birthday signs. The band played a mix of songs from the groups latest effort Apocalyptic Love along with music from Slash’s other groups Velvet Revolver and rock and roll hall of famers Guns N’ Roses and his solo work.

first try at strobist work. 40d with 580ex II (on generic wireless) shot through 48" umbrella. 1/64 power I believe.
Flash off to left facing down.
Not concerned much on composition, just looking at the lighting possibilities.
My default, within photography, is generally people focused, especially street photography, or capturing other candid moments. Within this, I'd like to think there is a common thread of humility throughout my shots.
Every now and then, however, (and especially in good light) my gaze is distracted towards subject matter where, on the surface anyway, the strive for humility takes a back seat. I am instead drawn to sleek lines, bold shapes; the abstract within man-made structures and buildings.
Of course, these shapes are often the result of human design and inspiration. Maybe there is humility there after all. I'll let you know when I come to a conclusion.
