The source of Life - the most visited waterfall in Slovenia
The visible part of the Savica is fed by the wider karst area of Crno Jezero, lying 500m above the waterfall. The water flows through a hidden underground of passages and lakes in two separate streams.
There is a long climb of 550 steps to each the waterfall.

We saw over 70 humpback whales in 3 hours… more than I would ever expect to see in a life time! These individuals were breaching and slapping the surface of the water with their fins. Super cool to see.

So it was about 5 mins of this enticing sunrise appearing under the cloud bank with the low mist swirling about then a heavy rain front came thru and ruined it all. Lucky that all i had to do was walk out onto the deck with out getting wet at all to grab this shot . Sometimes you get the win and so best take it.
Oh and spot the cows...

One of the many beautiful waterfalls in the Soča Valley.
Einer der vielen wunderschönen Wasserfälle im Soča Tal.
Eden od mnogih čudovitih slapov v dolini Soče.
This is not a breach but a tail slap. The whale must use its long pectoral fins to propel itself backwards out of the water, then it slaps the water surface with its massive tail flukes. This was taken a split second after the slap. It makes a big noise and a big splash, just like a breach. I took this photo at Gorda Banks, a Humpback breeding area off the tip of the Baja peninsula.
It has its name by the farm (Anko) in Jezersko resort, there's also the trail head from where you best reach it - in 20 minutes. Below this 10 m high waterfall there's also a 7 m one. Altogether nothing so special, but a nice goal to stretch your legs.
