Geelwangschildpadden zijn koudbloedig, dat betekent dat ze hun temperatuur niet zelf kunnen regelen zoals wij dat kunnen.

Geelwangschilpadden komen vooral in het zuiden van de Verenigde Staten voor, waar een subtropisch klimaat heerst en de temperatuur niet onder de 18 °C komt. Ze leven voornamelijk in drassige en moerasachtige gebieden met allerlei beekjes en meren. Als er maar stromend water is.

Geelwangschildpadden kunne lopen op het land en kunnen uitermate goed zwemmen. Ze ‘praten’ met elkaar door te trillen en door elkaar aan te raken, ook kunnen ze erg goed ruiken. Ze houden geen winterslaap maar een winterrust.

Geelwangschildpadden zijn overdag actief, 's avonds slapen ze in het water.

Peričnik Falls is one of the best-known waterfalls in Slovenia. It flows from a hanging valley in Triglav National Park into the glacial Vrata Valley, where the water of Peričnik Creek then flows into Bistrica Creek.

I had to deal with persistent showers when I got here although the showers relented from time to time making some shots possible. The valley was bursting with autumn colours and the walk up to the falls is short and intense.

The blend of red, orange and yellow colours coupled with flowing water and a big rocky outcrop, makes for a compelling viewing, especially if you love waterfalls. Kinda like xmas coming early :)

It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls you will ever see and oh..slap means waterfalls in Slovenian :)

Early in the morning at the waterfall Virje near Plužna / Bovec / Slovenia before the sun outshone the falling water (June, 13, 2017, 6:39 am).

I had hoped there much more water. However, I would then the intensive turquoise-green shining pool escaped.

Früh morgens am Wasserfall Virje nahe Plužna/Bovec/Slovenien, bevor die Sonne das fallende Wasser überstrahlte (13.06.2017, 6:39 Uhr).

Ich hatte mir dort deutlich mehr Wasser erhofft. Allerdings wäre mir dann der im frühen Morgenlicht intensiv türkis-grün leuchtende Pool entgangen.

The river Krka originates at a spring 4 kilometers east of the town Knin in the region Dalmatia, Croatia. The spring is located under a 22 meter high waterfall called slap Krčić or Topoljski slap. Krčić means tiny Krka.

Zoals hun naam het zegt, zijn het echt fluiteenden en kunnen ze heel lawaaierig zijn.

Het zijn schelle fluitgeluiden, de toon van het vrouwtje

is hoger dan die van het mannetje.

Gele fluiteenden hebben in verhouding tot andere watervogels tamelijk grote vleugels.

Omdat deze fluiteenden in bomen slapen, worden ze ook wel gele boomeend genoemd.

's Nachts gaan gele fluiteenden op zoek naar zaden en planten om te eten, in het waterrijke gebied waar ze leven.

Slap Pericnik is one of the most famous waterfalls in the heart of the Triglav National Park, flowing into the glacially formed Vrata Valley.

This couple caught my attention . I slapped the extender on to get them closer.That spot was about 360 feet (~110m) from me.Pushed it a bit here ,it not as sharp as I'd like it but that far away.

Ce couple a retenu mon attention. J'ai installé le multiplicateur pour les rapprocher. Cet endroit était à environ 360 pieds (~ 110 m) de moi.Je l'ai poussé un peu ici, ce n'est pas aussi net que je le souhaiterais mais c'est si loin.
