This is my second attempt at the Pleides, first was pretty poor. Loads of subs this time, although I am happy with this, I expected more out of it, seems to be a tricky little fella to image. Still is my favourite of all things in the sky and reminds me of my childhood.

Total 48mins consisting of individual subs of 45 seconds at ISO 1600. Taken with Canon EOS 1100D through Skywatcher 200P.

Activity-wise, the Sun has been a bit disappointing in recent years. Here are a few decent sunspots for a change. Taken with a DSLR at the prime focus of a 200mm aperture Newtonian reflector. A Baader fliter was used.

This another first both in terms of galxies and the fact I was using remote desktop from the bedroom.

This is just a quick stack usinf lights and darks, I hadn't quite worked out the mode the camera should have been on for taking images with eosbackyard, turns out it's manuak not bulb for lights darks and bias.

M106 is at a distance of about 22 to 25 million light-years away from Earth.

It was discovered by Pierre Méchain in 1781.

28 0.4s untracked stacked images, I still need how to include darks and flats, but i think I finally understand the basic procedure.

I think there is more structure in this one than previous ones.

Shot at prime focus with a Sky Watcher 200P f/5 iso 6400 hence the noise.

See my astro site pretty basic mind.

This is my first time photographing the Orion Nebula through my Skywatcher telescope. It has been such fun processing the photos to reach the final image.

It is composed of...

26 stacked photos - ISO800 20 seconds

63 stacked photos - ISO800 25 seconds

24 stacked photos - ISO1600 20 seconds

The photos were stacked using Sequator and then processed in Affinity. A final touch in DeNoise.

I cannot wait for some more clear skies.

It's great to do astrophotography away from the light pollution! Trifid Nebula (M20). I think this is the best capture of a nebula that I made so far. This is a forming star region that mixes reflection and emission nebulae, with the blue and red colors. The picture was taken from a bortle 1/2 site, the @campingecachoeiradoscristais , without any filter.

Well what a waste of time that was, last nights effort (22/09/2020) of M100.

Another capture of the M27, the Dumbbell Nebula. It's big in the sky and quite bright. It can be seen in a telescope and even some finderscopes as a circle of grey gas. Capture it is not hard at all, and it was one of my first targets when I was starting at the hoby. Now I made a new one and way better. The picture was taken from a bortle 8 site.

Lovely Jubbly. A beautiful asterism that you can clearly see with the naked eye. Binocular will show many stars.

Inspired by @Galactic.hunter , I did give it a try on my biggest project so far, directly from my house (bortle 8 city), in a galaxy not very bright, the M90 (NGC 4569 in sth between 9.5 and 10.2 Mag). We can see many more galaxies on the left of the main galaxy in the picture. It was a project that took almost two months and many days of bad weather or moonlight, which I couldn't do any pictures. Remove the gradients that I get from the city light polution it's really hard and brings the noise way up. It was not easy, but I'm really glad with the result and I'm definitey doing more projects like this in the future, because galaxies are mind blowing!

If you know a little of the nightsky, you know or heard of Sirius star. It's the brighest star in the nightsky. An interesting fact is that it isn't a single star, but two: Sirius A and Sirius B. They are relatively next to the Earth (8,6ly). We only see Sirius A with the naked eye and it is hotter and 1,7 times bigger than our Sun. Sirius B is smaller and takes aproximately 50 years to complete its orbit around its companion star. We are in a specific period of time that the two stars are apart from each other, which alow us to capture images from both of them, without Sirius A light merge with the light from Sirius B. Soon I'll be doing some pictures with a refractor telescope and I hope that the separation between them become more appearent without the refraction spikes.

The best 80% of 63 separate (Canon EOS 7D + Sky Watcher Explorer 200P on EQ5 Mount coupled via T-Ring) images.

Each image was taken at ISO1600 and 0.3s exposure. The SWE 200P gave the EOS 7D the equivalent of a 1000mm lens @ F=5.0. With hindsight 0.3s was a bit too long an exposure as the stars have that oval look about them. I don't have a tracking capability on the EQ5 Mount ...... Yet.

The images were taken on the 22nd March 2015 from our back garden Witney in Oxfordshire. Seeing conditions that night weren't all that great, the day had been quite warm for the time of year and it was still cooling down.

The images were stacked using Deep Sky Stacker and then gently post processed by adjusting the brightness and contrast levels using Photoshop Elements 8. Didn't want to over do it for fear of swamping out the trapezium (the tight cluster of four stars near the heart of the nebula).
