From Buck Springs overlook, Blue Ridge Parkway, North Carolina.

AS Final Piece, Sky scape. Firstly I sketched, using biro, the areas and shading of the sky and clouds, then I used various bits of recycled paper that I ripped and stuck on top. After that I layered on acrylic paint.

The spectacular sky-scape of the sun setting on the Navarran badlands made this little house an irresistible place for a photograph...

Whether the volcanic ash from Eyjafjallajoekull was responsible or not for this gorgeous sunset over Larkfield Tarn this particular Saturday evening is open to question. However, the lack of a single contrail is directly attributable! Very unusual for this sky-scape when looking in this direction.

watch the sky work. :O)

Our backyard is also gorgeous in the summer.

A Sikorsky S-58JT heavy-lifter delicately raises a roof-top HVAC between narrowly separated Chicago Loop high-rises. This is precision work indeed, the smallest unexpected blast of wind can undo more than just the piece of equipment at the bottom of the tow rope. This is a typical Chicago scene, see also: www.flickr.com/photos/9360144@N07/15453825435/in/photolis...

Needless to say, the operation was viscerally noisy, especially as the surrounding towers amplified and echoed the helicopter engine and rotor sounds. What was amazing to me is how so many people just kept walking down the street, without ever looking up to see what the hell was going on overhead.

As seen from the North Bucks Way :-)

The sunset was rather lovely! The colours were gorgeous! I used the Oil Filter here!

I went a little liberal with the definition of landscape for this photo, because its a bit more of "sky-scape." For this I set up near a small clearing and shot nearly straight up to get a tree frame for the stars. Since this was shot at about 2am, the moon had already set, allowing for lots of stars to come through.

This is a composite of about 60 images stacked using starstax. I used the Comet Mode feature to make it look like the stars are falling, along with gap fill to make sure there are no gaps in the trails. During one frame, I used a small bit of light painting on the trees to brighten them just a bit.

I was asked to do a painting for a children's charity auction and I knew the University of Arkansas stuff would raise the most money. So I wanted to try and paint a craftsman house style sky scape then I threw in a sign in the corner to add some interest. There's a lot of interesting detail in the sign for U of A graduates but the thing that might keep me from returning to my native Texas is the reference to Today's Specials. Sorry.

No colours added , this is as it was.

After a lovely autumn weekend in southern Washington state, Monday brought a light cold rain. This is a shot from Hazel Dell at 4:30 in the afternoon.
