The Masikryong Ski Resort (Korean: 마식령 스키 리조트) is a modern ski resort at the summit of the 1,360-metre Taehwa Peak (Korean: 대황산) some 20 kilometres (12 mi) outside Wonsan City in Kangwon Province, North Korea. According to the official project plan, the first stage of the 2,430-square-kilometre (940 sq mi) development cost USD 35,340,000 (£21 million; €25.5 million) and included construction of a luxury hotel, ice rink, swimming pool and restaurants. Official revenue forecasts suggest that 5,000 people will visit each day, generating an estimated annual income of USD 18,750,000 (£11.1 million/€13.5 million). The Masikryong (literally, horse-resting pass) project was initiated by the North Korean government as part of a drive to "make people not only possess strong physiques and sound mentality, but also enjoy their sports and cultural lives in a world’s advanced condition.
Despite political tensions with neighbouring South Korea, leaders in the north hope to host some events at the 2018 Winter Olympics to be held in Pyeongchang.
Constructed in just ten months, North Korea's only ski resort is part of a drive by leader Kim Jong-un to increase foreign tourist numbers from 200,000 to 1 million per annum by 2016.

Every thursday the local ski hill holds a freestyle competition and a bunch of people from the photoclub decided to make the trek and see if we could get any good shots.
That night just wasn't my night as my equipment wasn't a fan.
First of all we decided to do a three light set up, one directly below the skier, one beside the jump and one closer to the landing.
Since we had towo cactus triggering modules, two canon flashes and a nikon that could be optically triggered we managed to figure out a way to have three people all triggering all three flashes.
When it gets cold recharge times go down and when three people are trying to get the same shot it really dosen't work out well. We tried to call who's skier was theirs but this didn't seem to work as all three of us were trying to take shots at the same time.
Personally for wahtever reason the position i was in relation to the cactus receiver wasn't playing nice so my reliability was terrible (PW are in my future probably). So i tried a few and got a couple shots but since we didn't have a light meter and it was difficult to guess exposure my first few shots (the best ones) were a bit overexposed, i wasn't worried as i could probably save them in post until i relaized i was shooting jpeg. I always shoot raw and so rarely check but the last thing i was shooting didn't require any editing so i was shooting jpeg. This is one of the jpeg shots which i brought down a bit but it still looks wierd.
Anyways all in all it was a decent learning experiance and I would def do things differently in the future but here is one of the few shots I actually managed to get.

Labelled as a "Citrus Wired Cherry Soda" I suppose they are following the lead of Mountain Dew Code Red. Ski is made by the people at Double Cola and Ski does predate Mountain Dew and is not trying to be an imitation. Before 2011, this flavor was just Cherry Ski which was introduced in 1996.
