These were live, waiting to be grilled, in several stalls of the Wangfujing Snack Street. I did not try one.
We got these delicate skewers to eat the struffoli with - it wouldn't do to get sticky wildflower honey all over our fingers.
Not exactly the right way to open a wine bottle. That would be the skewer I used to push the cork in. (couldn't find the freaking corkscrew)

Culinary. 04/04/2016. Skewer with turkey and pineapple. Meat marinated in olive oil, paprika, cumin, turmeric, curry, salt and pepper. Other ingredients are honey and bacon.
I don't seem to have the knack of cooking for one. Inherited from my Mum, I also tend to think of cooking enough for another meal.
So that's lunch sorted for tomorrow.
Chicken & Veggie Skewers
Ingredients: you see 'em
Marinade chicken over night with your favorite marinade
Slap on skewers with veggies and grill until chicken is done
Candied fruit skewers. These were all we were brave enough to eat. The pineapple and plum were particularly lovely.

MELON & PICKLED FENNEL orange zest, Jerez sherry vinegar; WARM ROASTED BABY BEETS & IDIAZABAL CHEESE champagne vinaigrette; WHITE ANCHOVY + MANZANILLA OLIVE piparra long pepper
