thought I hadnt put a sketch put on here for a while....so i have.
biro, on langton rough grain watercolour paper, 300gsm
Sometimes a sketch does not turn out well as a print and this is a good example. The medium is different so behaves differently, but still, I would have liked this to have turned out with a bit more life to it. It may well be one of those pieces I tweak later with the aid of some pastels. :)
This is a sketch of ColeMarie Soleil I made after I met her on Immersiva
Its pen and ink with charcoal and smears of coffee
Third try. Two versions - the right one was definetly much more fun. I laboured over the left one and decided that quick sketches are what I'm trying to achieve. So I just used my little el cheapo sketch book and quickly scribbled it out. I like this drawing with the brush rather than the colouring in that I have been doing.
Este sketch es una de las tareas de la Sketchbook Skool. Liz Steel nos pidió analizar al máximo detalle posible una taza de té. A mi me sirvió para conservar el recuerdo de mi abuela desayunando con este set.
Liz Steel's assignment for SBS, we had to analise the detail and pattern of a tea cup. It helped me to keep my grandmother's memory using this breakfast set.
... Bottle. An empty gin bottle.

Evening sketch, one warm evening to enjoy. Bikes and greenery.
Croquis du soir, le soleil était de sortie, les vélos et l'herbe verte aussi.
I don't know, folks--this road looks like an octopus!!! Maybe it is because I am reading a book about an octopus!
No frame for this sketch as I wanted to show the dramatic view of the peaks over Famara, seen from the beach in a warm sunny Saturday. The volcanic origin of the island makes them display different colours. Ink & watercolour on a handmade maze sketchbook with Arches rough grain.

CALIFORNIA POPPY & LUPINE MEMORIES
This is a quick sketch of a memory of the foothills and roadsides of California.
It was a breathtaking experience sometimes to come around a bend in the road and find a sight like this for as far as you could see.
These are ''real'' California Poppy'' colors...Orange/Gold....and mixed with bright Blue/Purple Lupine it is a spectacular sight.
Seems that Nature does a pretty good job of combining colors...:)
They can be found along the highways and byways in California, and especially in the Antelope Valley around Lancaster where a Poppy Festival is held, and the Tehachapi Mountains has glorious displays of them, and I think more Lupine with them in the Tehachapi area.
I did this painting with Ink, Watercolor, & Neocolor Wax Pastels...:)
