Since my childhood, drawing has always been a passion, but when I discovered photography, I thought that the combination of these two passions would allow me to give free rein to my imagination.

In this series "The sketch of a life", I wanted to illustrate my life, like my sketches gave birth to each of his actions or by the intervention of someone I are close (for exemple in "sketch your mentor" with the intervention of my grandmother who taught me in the drawing), or events that have been important to me (like in "sketch the life" with the birth my daughter "Cataleya"), but also with something a little more humorous (in "Catch & Sketch" for example with the intervention of my friend Cal Redback, or in "sketch and fight" with a battle of two artists with each his technique)

Yokohama / watercolor and colored pencil

Here is what I call a "pénatorama". It is a sketchbook page made at someone's home. I like to sketch in an unknown house and to go on a trip in someone's stuff.

watercolor and white pen / kanagawa, Japan

(20 minutes sketch )

My first sketch across the fold! I would never have attempted a building this complicated before taking the Sketching Now Buildings course.

I was trying not to go in too dark - and to make sure I left lots of light. It's tricky to find shadows on a cloudy day. And I think I left it a bit too light - so it looks washed out.

Coffee and pencil sketch. Coffee has a nice range of values. The trick is to use very little water. I stirred a wet brush into a pinch of instant coffee grains. I discovered that it lifts quite well. It must be designed to completely dissolve with water. I’m not sure how archival it is though.

Canson Mix Media paper, vintage Parker mechanical pencil, Nescafé Clásico Dark Roast instant coffee applied with a #4 round brush. Image is about 2.5x6 inches (6x15.2 cm).

This is a sketch I drew from a photo I took at last weekend's local car show. Drawn with a Schneider Xpress pen and colored with markers & colored pencils.

sketch for an illustration!

Evening sketch : again a view from the tiny backyard of Chic et Bohème. They did some spring cleaning, and put three tables. They left one wall standing in the vacuum, like a little partition with an old window still there. I enjoyed a tea while drawing.

Sketch, getting used to water colours

A late post of my sketch of the Wine and Dine Festival 2018 Thanks to Lousia for organizing, we spent a nice afternoon sketching till dusk.

Juan Alzate Jazz Quartet: Juan Alzate - saxophones, Ivan Lara - bass, Fernando Mendoza - Drums, Flavio Meneses - Guitar

Watercolor sketch

a small idea, don't know if I'm going to work it out more

***not my best sketch, i know... the sky has been overcast lately... the climate has been really weird and all... the country, in a not so great state... maybe that is why i ended up with this... rather dark... but still my heart is hopeful...

In this instance I didn't concentrate on the sketch; simply allow my hand and eye to wander round the view of the quartet as my ears enjoyed the sounds.
