sketch on my way to Manchester/ watercolor

Here's a hand drawn sketch I made, probably during a slow period during a meeting for example. It was made on computer printer label stock which seems to have an especially fine surface which accepts ink* rather well. For whatever reason on one particular printer, whenever a set of labels are printed the machine always produces one at the end of the job that is blank perhaps to assure that the last label printed doesn't get cut off short. Of course, because the labels are stored in continuous bulk within the printer, (roll or accordion fold I don’t know) reloading the 'unused' blank ones is not possible. Often, the blank ones are cast aside for any imaginable use.

This illustration is of a motorist being barraged with a stream of auto parts coming from either a car ahead or even perhaps the car of the motorist! It doesn't really matter, of course. It's just an idle, whimsical sketch of a nonsensical topic!

*I really like Uni-Ball Signo gel pens. The ink dries much faster than the very popular Pilot G4 and is less apt to wash away.

To go sketching in Lanzarote is to brave the wind and the sun, but, you always find a shocking scene to document. In Matagorda, next to Guacimeta Airport (near the sea) "hunters of tin birds" gather in the hopes of catching a plane landing.

Evening sketch, Cafe Jules with sound track of J.J. Cale in the speakers. Cooking of pancakes also. Very cool. The bar is much longer, but I was too lazy to draw all the glass and bottles shelves.

Croquis du soir, Au café Jules qui passe du J.J. Cale, cool ! Et puis cuisine des crêpes aussi. Le bar est beaucoup plus long, mais j'ai eu la flemme de dessiner toutes les étagères de verres et bouteilles.

Anatomical study of the legs and claws of an unsettling creature. I'm looking for a mix of high heels, chicken thighs and manicure tongs. ~~~~~~ ^(;,,;)^ ~~~~~ Estudio anatómico de las patas y garras de una criatura desasosegante. Voy buscando una mezcla de zapatos de tacón, contramuslos de pollo y tenacillas de manicura.

This was supposed to be a kids activity to draw sand art. But we got bored with that so I flipped the paper over (it was high quality thick stuff). After I drew and painted the tree trunk and branches both kids had some fun adding splashes of color. When they ran off to see the garden I sketched in some of the other cafe patrons.

a few drawings that I probably won't get around to painting, so here goes.

Kind of lost interest part the way through, as the trolleybus on the left is wrong, and couldn't seem to correct it.

Old sketches and stuff.

Sketch created at the eyepiece of a Helios 102mm refractor fitted with a Zoom eyepiece, on a Skywatcher AZGTi mount set up in my back garden in Oxfordshire.

I used black paper and Stabilo CarbOthello pastel pencils.

I have created many eyepiece sketches over the past 10 years, but tonight was the first time I've actually created a sketch of the Moon live at the eyepiece. Until now, all of my lunar sketches have been created from photos! It was a challenge because it was well below freezing and my eyepiece kept misting up.
