This is the place in front of the university library in Freiburg but the sketch doesn't look like the library... yet?

Used pen and ink brush over a photo, then filled in the color. Not much to see, but fun to do at the time.
#DoodlewashMarch2023 prompts: Flower Pot.
Did you know the color of a plant pot can be important, since darker pots will absorb and retain more heat?
A very quick sketch done, literally, moments after getting the Rabi Alieva da Vinci Brush Set for Watercolor & Gouache (4184). The Inlaid liner brush is quite unique. There is a free tutorial that comes with this set. I may have to take it to see how Rabi uses the brush.

The dark lines of light pouring of the crying sky
On the shoulders of the artist.
Like the lines streaming from her dark pencil
Onto the light paper
While creating dark and running images of
A cloudy day on the sea.
Like the lines of our lives dropping slowly from the
Artists trained hand into the complex drawing
Of reality mixed with imagination so that we cannot
Tell them apart, just like we
Cannot separate the waves.
What is reality if not
A sketch of light?
a collection of sketches on napkins borrowed from the cafe at the Sydney Museum of Contemporary Art - unfortunately when they are scanned they lose all the wrinkles and texture.

The color blue can help express one's feelings, or be felt in the stylings of a particular type of music. It can be seen when looking deep into someone's eyes, or among the many colors of the rainbow... Blue exists in a variety of different things, and takes on a variety of meanings.
The task of this week's Macro Monday assignment was to show a small object that is mostly (or prominently features) the color blue. My take on this particular subject "led" me (ok, pun intended) to the blue pencil... Not only does the subject itself feature the color blue, but by definition the term "blue pencil" is also used to express the work done by an editor:
"If a person goes over a piece of writing with a blue pencil, they remove or change some of the words to improve it or make it acceptable" -- Cambridge Dictionary. I always thought that job was best handled by a red pencil, but guess that blue is a pretty versatile color.
HMM, and have a great week!

366 et dernier croquis pour ce projet de calendrier perpétuel sur fiches de bibliothèque (7,5x12,5cm) entamé il y a 1 an et demi. Il faut encore cacheter les dates et trouver un moyen d'assembler ces 188 fiches.

The first set of Mowgli Sketches of which I would plan 9 of them. *whew*
Panel 1- The first panel to presumably inspire me to do the whole series of these Mowgli drawings that I would end up doing & this was a good first start. It could use a bit more detail, but I’m proud of the result.
Panel 2- Another one which shows him backed into a corner. I like the pose in this as well as the sense of awareness that the character is getting into.
Panel 3- Mowgli presumably eating dinner & this was the 1st one to have objects in the way, in this case it was the feet & I had to try a draw them exposed, and I think it looks okay even if the toes are a bit ugly.
Panel 4- Mowgli unconscious on the floor & I used it because it looked interesting & I liked the pose.
Panel 5- Same as above, but in a different position. I had a hard time doing the rest of the feet of course.
Panel 6- Mowgli standing up in a sort of a Gentleman, but Authoritarian stature which I respect.
Panel 7- My Favorite panel of the set, because I like the serenity & calmness that it represents. And I also like the way I did the face.
Panel 8- Same as the other one, but with the head tilted up. Did this cuz of the different pose & stuff.
Panel 9- Mowgli in his cage. I think I might’ve done his back a bit too thin, but I like how I did his hans & wrists covered behind the iron bar.
Panel 10- Mowgli just running and I like running stances as it adds activity to the character. I also had a hard time adding the details to the sole of His Right Foot & went too much on the design, so I simply went with a backwards ‘S’ shape to it and left it as it is now.
Panel 11- Mowgli jumping above a log & once again the pose was good cuz it had a bit of Action Movie style to it. The rest of the hair was a bit difficult as well as the left hand & his fingers to the right which took quite a long while. Probably the longest one I had to work with in this set cuz I suck at hands.
Panel 12- Another Mowgli standing shot. Took it cuz of the pose & the sense of curiosity that he feels.
Panel 13- Mowgli in the cage again. Did this because of the loneliness & innocence of the character.
Panel 14- Mowgli struggling with the iron bars. I liked the sense of strength in him & the pose.
Panel 15- Same one as above but in different struggling pose. Also had a tough time with the hair in both shots as my monitor is a bit dark to handle with.
Panel 16 & 17- Mowgli still stuck in his cage. I liked both of these, especially the innocence portrayed in the 16th panel. It was pretty hard to remove them bars & stuff.
Panel 18- Mowgli reaching for the keys to set him free. For some reason, I gave inadvertently gave him Psycho Eyes or something, but it was just the pupils.
Panel 19- Mowgli also trying to reach the keys. His toes looked a bit weird & floppy, but they were drawn that way so I left it as it is. Wished that I’d done the rest of his left fingers, but eh, the pose was good.
Panel 20- Mowgli STILL in his cage. This was much like the 16th panel, but I like how he ‘huddles’ in this one, so I kept in here.
