Originally sketched by David Bellamy's sketch, later a little bit changed by me...

She is my fairy, princess, ninja, cowgirl, superhero rolled into one.
I couldn't resist since I am working on some new concepts for books.
For portrait class, we're supposed to do a live sketch (outlines and construction mostly, no value) of a face in full-on or 3/4 view.
Anyway, while John worked on his portfolio he let me hover over him and sketch.
You know that long line of people waiting to get up to the top of the towers on Notre-Dame in Paris? Well, I was in it, standing against the cast-iron fence with my back to the church, and I started drawing the houses on the side street right across from the church. We were lucky: they cut the line a few people beyond us and we were among the last ones to make it to the top of the towers on that day. There is a photo Valérie took of me just as I am in the process of drawing. (07-07)
Idea for the top of the head of the traveling Domo: A smiling sun.
This is drawn to scale (traced around a 2" Domo for the drawing area)
Kiersten had a rare weeknight rehearsal in prep for last Saturday's Tacoma Young Artists Orchestra concert. It gave me the opportunity to settle in at a Tully's across the street and sketch.
These two quick sketches were done in fountain pen with sepia tone ink and shaded with a water wash.

sketch Petunia flowers
The Petunia flowers are only open in the morning. They were gone when I came back the afternoon. The shorter lives of the flowers are normal. I sketched them when they were alive. I began with pencil, and then pen. I like freehand style sketch lines. The subjects I picked up have my own need. The two small flowers on the left have some shapes to relate with human body. I can't stop myself to image them as human body. I am who I am. As normal as I always like relationship of humans feelings in my artwork. A woman way to feel this world.
