The wood for this came from a scrap left over from replacing the basement stairs. This is a sketch pencil with really thick lead. I gave it to my daughter who is studying art at Alfred University.
very supple, w/ nicely shaped stacked heel.
I get a little obsessed with other people's shoes, especially when I'm looking for ones, myself. I need new boots, can you tell?
This is the sketch for a painting I'm putting in a group show called "Heart Earth" - it's an eco-love theme, to be widely interpreted.
I took this piece a bit more personally and quietly, rather than represent the eco-thing globally or in a "platform" way.
Laying in the grass, holding a lot of tiny little hands.
Haha, first of i should make it VERY CLEAR, that this is not some little fan art that im going to post to them the band to look "oh so cool'... thats just sad.
I was thinking of a word that flows to draw as "Will" just doesnt work for drawing, i was listening to Saosin & its got variety from a drawing standpoint... so i drew it :p
The "i" went completely wrong, its far too indistinct

I am sketching to find some good motif for a new paperbowl...but I am still working on it...this is a sketch done with waterclor, oil colors ( Faber) and some white goache.....trying to make a drawing/painting of my feeling for/of these covered leaves....funny thing though to like some leaves covered by dirt...but I do...strange things sometimes give you inspiration....gues my love for the grey color has something to do with it too....
Wonder if I should try painting onto the paperbowl itself...maybe it could be an idea.....

One of the things I really love about sketches in general is the way they – by necessity of time, circumstance, and place – seem to become a sort of shorthand for much more complex ideas and details. I’ve always appreciated the brevity some artists have, the way they can coerce a single line into speaking volumes, into communicating so much. Very occasionally I’ll see a hint of that evident in one of my sketches, but more frequently than not they’re just amused scribblings of the moment.
Pen and watercolor 10132012. Sketch crawl around Deoksugung in Seoul.
It's sunny but a little bit cold. So many peopel were participating lots of activities around here in center of the Seoul today. Very noisy but so lively. I love it! We're expecting gorgeous Autumn this year.
Rough surf (!), brief bushfire, looking towards Glenelg and southern hills: Australia Day at West Beach, Adelaide. I thought I was painting a quintessential Aussie beach scene, with its bathers, young couple entwined on their towel, old guy powerwalking in his budgie smugglers, bushfire smoke in the hills, but looking at it today I think it is reminiscient of a battlefield sketch.
