Day 2. Starting to find my way around Sketchbook. I found two or three brushes I really like and a few methods for drawing and writing. Sketchbook is by far the best app for creating notes. I've tried Brushes and Adobe Ideas.

My imagination was unfurled as flowers morphed into shoes.

Desenhei esse sketchbook do começo ao fim em sete dias. Foi uma das coisas mais divertidas que jĂ¡ fiz.

Sketchbook journal entry: 2D time based project: 'The power of words' - "Used".

The word chosen for my first task in the 2D project was "Used", which I could interpret this however I like. I decided to use my boots as a literal meaning of being used, worn in. I had to explore the word used in four different ways, by firstly taking a picture of the boots, then replicating the image as a graphite and chalk drawing. Afterwards, I had to replicate the image in Photoshop as a digital drawing, which I took a specific style towards this drawing by using prominent lines and block colours.

Lastly, I had to create a more 3D based replica, however I didn't exactly know how I was going to replicate the boots, so I took a different approach and dipped the bottom of the boots in acrylic paint, glued over an acrylic splattered and collage background.

Drew this when I thought I was going to have to work for Seattle's Best Coffee.

Jenn from the Artists Play Room www.justaddwatersilly.com/ told us to do @Anything You Like' this week, so I did a kind of landscape with oil pastels in my wee sketchbook. I'm quite pleased with it except now I realise it would be better with a little something more in the background. Now I need to 'tread carefully' so I don't completely ruin it. Any ideas?

Thanks for looking :0) *hugs* Mo x.

Today the planets aligned in just the right places and thus I decided to experiment with inking.

It would probably have been less time consuming if I was using something that wasn't a cheap ball-point pen, but I liked the result regardless.

Sketchbook page from a project on the Octopus.

I produced 6 sketchbooks in total for my Final Major Project - each for a different purpose, including artist research, production planning, theory and evaluation. In addition to these sketchbooks I also produced a photo book, a short film and built an installation in which the film was shown.
