After a 7 day hiatus, I returned to putting down some lines and splashing some paint in my sketchbook. Even though it was only 7 days, I felt that my hand Eye coordination was a bit off but I'm glad I 'm back in the game.
The completed Sketchbook Project, page by page. I combined paper cut work and collages.

I drew this from a life drawing session with a .07mm mechanical pencil. : ) We are a group of artists who pose for each other for 25 minute sessions. It's a great way to learn to draw, and model!

If my scribble notes don't make sense I will post a photo once the covers are completed (sadly, I got a smudge on the first cover so will have to re-print tomorrow)
Meanwhile the sewing continues on Dress 2 in anticipation of the special zip foot.
If you are interested I found a youtube of a TV ad for the Make it Easy series (from the 80s!) which was very important to my sewing 'career'. Seeing this ad and the pages of Volume 1 bring back SO many memories

In my formative early teenage years I started sewing. I only got $2 pocket money so I sacrificed the whole of it to purchase this series. Sadly I threw out the patterns (maybe some of the styles MIGHT come back in fashion!) but still have the index cards. The love of drawing flats and making up wardrobes from these patterns was a favourite pastime...didn't have any money left to buy any fabric!
Later in my early 20s I progressed to Burda magazines and making my own patterns. My skills are not as good as they once were (amazing the things you forget and strangely how it does start coming back to you)
My Sketchbook Project 2012 theme is Sandwiches. I am going to draw sandwiches from my primary school days (1970's Australia) . There are going to be some "interesting "combinations to draw.
Milo sandwich !! Honestly, my mother never packed or made these, but my brother assures me he had them, so I am assuming he made them himself as an afterschool snack. Note: no margarine
still a work in progress. Milo is difficult to draw ! I thought that this topic would be a lot less time consuming than my last two year entries. and I thought I would not become as emotionally attached it to. Wrong on both counts !
this is the cover of one of my new sketchbooks. my dad got it for me in Spain a couple of months ago. i didnt have time to draw in it til now (plus it was so pretty i didnt want to at first!) i actually started drawing in it a week ago when i went to MD for a visit.

Threw my chance into the Polaroid lego ideas challenge earlier. Didn’t win, but made something very personal to me! My description for the contest went as followed:
If I had a Polaroid camera, I would take photos to reference when sketching in my sketchbook! I love drawing ships and old forms of transportation, so my Lego Polaroids show a ship pulling into port as if I was there to capture the moment. When creating them, I took inspiration from the modern day maritime museum when I saw tall ships manned by volunteers coming back from the sea. You can even see a modern day city behind the ships captured on my Lego Polaroid as if the same volunteers are sailing this Lego ship. I've stitched the Polaroids into my Lego sketchbook next to sketches of the ship, made with my trusty Lego writing utensils. Good Luck to everyone in the contest!
Recently discovered a large number of my old sketchbooks from Art School. These are some of the pieces I still like.
