["Hey you gulls! That pool is for paying guests only!" LOL]

[left-double-click for a closer look - cute seagulls! LOL]

If you drive south through the United States, through Florida, through the Florida Keys, to the end of the road at mile/marker zero... you end up at this house! Then, 90-miles of open-ocean,

and then Cuba! It's quite an amazing island! Come and visit!

[Many weekends there are weddings at this Victorian-style mansion]

[Ocean-view Tower-room is often reserved for the bride and groom]

History: It was built in 1896 for a cost of $250,000 as a private

residence for Judge Vining Harris. It was converted years later

into a Cuban nightclub called Café Cayo Hueso in 1939. It was

converted back into a residence in 1954 and remained so until

1996, when it underwent a $3 million renovation and was then

converted into an 18-room hotel. Quite an amazing hotel to visit!

Those tiny wings move so fast! Caught this lovely little jewel having a sip of nectar as I sat on the deck sipping my morning coffee.

Shallow dof catches just the wings.
