Saturday Self Challenge; Pipes and Tubes

Just in case you're wondering, its the top of a drink bottle, placed upside down on a red counter, with the straw in focus. Photographed in strong morning light, with a boost of colour in editing.

A Gulf Fritillary takes a deep sip from a blazing star

Yes, I know I've featured squirrels drinking on several occasions, but this one yesterday was too good to miss with the rambling roses and newly unfurled fern fronds also in the frame.

Butterflies loved these flowers, sipping the nectar from the massed flowers. (Australian Painted Lady - Vanessa kershawi)

To all those Year 12 students who are awaiting their ATAR rank today, all the best and I hope you achieved a decent score. No matter what the number today, there are pathways to continue your passions. Happy Wing Wednesday.

Bath time always a treat for him.

For Macro Monday's theme #Connection

In case it's not obvious, the butterfly needs the connection to drink from the flower :-)

My friend Eric let me come over to his house early this morning and taught me how to get wonderful Hummingbird images. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun being surrounded by multitudes of hummers! Thanks so much Eric!

This paper wasp struck a pretty pose while sipping a bit of honey on a leaf.

I put a few drops on the Hibiscus occasionally to see what has a 'sweet tooth'... :)

Thank you for taking a look at my images. I certainly appreciate it.

Day 022 - 365/2023 - A Never-Ending Journey

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Starting to feel a little better and positive, appetite returning and a bit more energy. Still keeping up with the intake of liquids and actually prepared dinner today. The daily photo project is still stressing, but less today. Thankfully used the list yesterday with the rattan. Played a bit in photoshop today while listening to music, something I missed doing while dealing with the flu. Looking forward to better days.

The hall in the 10th floor in our ship...take on voyage to Antarctica

This is a single parachute seed from my previous post (Salsify Seed Pod). I applied two tiny droplets of water to shoot an interesting photo... but then a Thrips just appeared and started sipping from the drop. Go figure. I already had my MP-E65 macro cranked out to 5x Magnification. Sometimes you just get lucky.

[French] Carpenter Ant / (Camponotus aethiops)

Carpenter Ant drinking from a dew drop from a handrail. This is a 7-image focus stack and whilst I tried to get more of this magnificent beast in focus with more shots, they don't hang around long enough. As long as you focus on the head end first!
