A gorgeous single track on the CCC road above the Middle Fork.

Video of the ride.

Last year on this date, Jenni and I made a roadtrip to Sedona, Arizona. It was our first time mountain biking there and it was an eye-opening experience. I've ridden a lot of slickrock trails, from Grand Junction, Colorado, to Moab, to St. George, Utah. Sedona has a very different style and flow from anything else I've ever ridden, though. It's interesting to me how every place has it's own unique trails. It's a combination of the terrain and local trail-building style and technique. Sedona really stood out with a fun mix of flowy dirt singletrack interspersed with chunky tech slickrock sections. It was lots of fun and I can't wait to go back and spend some more time there.

I'm not a fan of cold. Yes I realize I live in CO, and do all manner of snow sports and activities, and bike everywhere I can regardless of temperature, but I don't have to like it. So here is a shot from this past summer, riding some single track in Boulder with my buddy PJ. I always thought I rode pretty hard, but this dude slays. I'm probably better off staying behind the lens.

Happy 2014 hommies!

Looking across Devonport to downtown Auckland and that fugly Sky Tower.

I've got one weekend left of skiing and then I can devote myself to mountain biking, again. I can't wait for the snow to melt so I can get back up into the high country to ride trails like this.

The Caledonian Railway's Symington to Broughton line was built in 1860, and by 1864 it had been extended east to Peebles. It carried passengers and freight, including livestock, and was mainly a connection between Peebles and what was then the Caledonian Railway's main line to Glasgow – now the West Coast Main Line. The section between Broughton and Peebles was single track and apparently without passing loops other than station sidings.

Coming soon - spring in Salt Lake City means we're counting the days until the snow melts enough for us to ride the Wasatch Crest Trail. Located on the top ridgeline of the Wasatch Mountains separating Park City and Salt Lake City, Wasatch Crest remains one of my very favorite trails and one of the reasons I choose to live where I do.

One of the last photos I have of the complete bike, in its final build.

Custom built 1992 Trek Singletrack for touring

My photos didn't quite capture just how beautiful this place was. Mt Albert is a bike-friendly volcano.

Nothing from me would be complete, or start with, in this case without something from a Holga..

One of my very first mountain biking photographs, from 2000.

I had these dreams about mountain biking that were extremely vivid, that I had to recreate them in photographs...

In camera double exposure, two different scenes along the same trail, made about two miles a

part.

Taken preceding the crash which caused the damage in the other photos.

Here's another photo from the Fears Tears & Beers mountain bike enduro. There are a lot of things that make this race unique but riding through a casino has to be at the top of the list. Strobist info: Two Godox AD200s without modifiers in front of the rider. One is a bit to the rider's left and pointed directly at the rider. The other is to the rider's right and bounced off the ceiling. Both lights were triggered with Godox XPro trigger. No modifiers were used.
