When I was out mountainbiking I passed through this piece of woodland just a short distance from home, I thought the pines were so nice that I had to go back with the camera a little later.
I liked the curving line of the singletrack and the treetops as they began to catch the golden light from the sun.
Today I got up for sunrise at the location where Nine Mile Creek dumps into the Minnesota River. A walk with the dog there, on the previous evening, was capped off by a sunset, of exceptionally glorious color, which jump started my desire to get out with the camera.
The Minnesota River shore is a popular spot for fat tire riders where they have created a winding path that gracefully threads its way between the trees. It also provided an easy path to follow as I hiked to the area where I had counted eleven roosting eagles the night before.

My knees are enjoying having a granny-gear to use up this section of my commute. 26/36T on the MonsterTrucker sure beats 34/34T on the MonsterCrosser.

I'm heading back out on the road for a couple of weeks and wanted to share another fall mountain bike photo before I left. I may not get another chance for fall photos this time around. This one is from late last fall - October. It was probably one of the last rides of the year. Maybe I'll get lucky and the aspens will stay golden for a few weeks.
As much as I love winter and skiing, I'm kinda tired of being cold. Here's to warm summer days in the mountains.
Unfortunately summer evenings have slipped through our fingers, long nights setting in.
