I'm trying to do the 365 - 7 Deadly Sins challenge. Envy is the hardest one for me because I really don't envy others much. Well, I do, but I am ambivalent about it all. Like I really wish I had more money but would I work 9-5 in a job with pensions and medical and dental? No way. I would really like to be one of those people with the 3 or 5 or 10 million dollar yearly salaries, but I think most of them have sold their souls to get there (not all, but a good portion) and I'd rather not. I mean if I won the lottery (which I won't because I seldom buy tickets) I'd probably pay off my mortgage and then pay off my kid's mortgages and give a whole bunch to local charities (and maybe buy some more really cool chickens). What I do envy though is people's personal relationships with a friend/ lover/ partner. I have my dogs. I have my chickens. I have my friends. I have my farm. But sometimes it would be nice to have someone to talk to about the latest book I read or to share a meal with or to even just sit and watch Law & Order...

This is a single frame of the nearly eclipsed moon from last night.

I found that the longest exposure that I could reasonably use with the 300 mm lens is no more than .5 seconds. Anything longer gave star trails and thus blurred features on the moon's face. In retrospect, I probably should have set up the telescope mount.

For this image, I brought the raw file into PPL4 and applied a slight curve to bring up the darks and temper the lights, some noise reduction, and cropping.

Post clean up and conversion to single speed.
