This singing reindeer head is just above the "xmas pub" at the German Market in Brum at the moment. He's pretty jolly and sings in German and English. After a few wheat beers and mulled wines you feel like you're hallucinating though.

Common chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs) sitting on oak branch and singing.
Zięba zwyczajna (Fringilla coelebs) siedząca na gałęzi dębu i śpiewająca.
Usiadła zięba na dębie:
„Na pewno dziś się przeziębię!
Dostanę chrypki, być może,
Głos jeszcze stracę, broń Boże,
A koncert mam zamówiony
W najbliższą środę u wrony”.
I have to say, I'm glad the birthdays in this family are over until May- I can't take much more of this.
Singing bowls (also known as 'Himalayan bowls' or 'rin' or suzu gongs in Japan) are a type of bell, specifically classified as a standing bell. Rather than hanging inverted or attached to a handle, standing bells sit with the bottom surface resting. The sides and rim of singing bowls vibrate to produce sound. Singing bowls were traditionally used throughout Asia as part of Bön and Tantric Buddhist sadhana. Today they are employed worldwide both within and without these spiritual traditions, for meditation, relaxation, healthcare, personal well-being and religious practice.
Singing bowls were historically made in Tibet, Nepal, India, Bhutan, China, Japan and Korea. Today they are made in Nepal, India, Japan and Korea. The best known type are from the Himalayan region and are often called "Tibetan singing bowls."
I finally found a singing Charlie mouse on Ebay!
I was quite affordable! It was low priced because he no longer sang. I took a chance he was just needing new batteries, that aren't easy to replace.
I was right! after a bit of surgery Charlie has new batteries and singing just fine, as you will hear.
I have been wanting a singing Charlie mouse since Clayton's kids posted a great video of one. : ) and I saw videos of the kids show. (Thank you Sue and Lesley )
An employee draws a mallet across the surface of a singing bowl. The bowl is made from glass and the mallet made the bowl vibrate and play a musical note. Singing bowls, also known as standing bells, are used for multiple purposes, including meditation and for religious and ceremonial funtions. Seen at the Karma Luck store in the Grand Canal Shoppes, Venetian Resort, Las Vegas.
How beautiful is this singing form of Ganesha! I found this very cute idol in a shop and could not help myself from clicking with my cell phone camera...
Singing Ringing Tree, Burnley Lancashire. Having lived nearby for over a year I thought it time I visited. A perfect open hill top location for keeping the shutter open.
my girl came home last night!
first year of college is a wrap, and I once again have three little birds back in the nest.
it was not the easiest of years. in fact, quite the opposite. a year of transitions, adjustments, and hurdles to overcome.
there were times when she faltered, when she doubted herself, and I confess to some road trip rescue missions, driving to see her, spending time together in hotels rooms, talking and talking and talking some more, until she could reach that place where she knew it was in her to succeed, but sometimes that means digging in deep, wanting it so badly, that you push yourself to be capable of more than you thought you were.
and she did.
and there were some triumphs along the way, mini triumphs perhaps, but triumphs nonetheless.
so the sweet songs are hers to sing today. she did it. she made it.
hurray and HCS!!!
Singing with Santa is a free event for the Loyola community and features a performance of The Porta-Puppet Players’ “Storytime with Mrs. Claus,” an interactive comedic puppet show with special appearances by Chrissy the Christmas mouse, Frosty the Snowman, Yule Tide the elf, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Santa is in attendance to lead caroling of holiday favorites at the piano while children decorate Christmas cookies and a professional photographer takes family portraits.
Some of those ships are like floating forest of masts and lianes… with sailors perched on the highest branches, singing in unison.

A Blackbird Singing - R.S. Thomas
It seems wrong that out of this bird,
Black, bold, a suggestion of dark
Places about it, there yet should come
Such rich music, as though the notes'
Ore were changed to a rare metal
At one touch of that bright bill.
You have heard it often, alone at your desk
In a green April, your mind drawn
Away from its work by sweet disturbance
Of the mild evening outside your room.
A slow singer, but loading each phrase
With history's overtones, love, joy
And grief learned by his dark tribe
In other orchards and passed on
Instinctively as they are now,
But fresh always with new tears.
These were the dolls that I though needed the most changing!
Snow: I added the pink in her sleeves! They were so boring!
Cindy: Dress has been Silvered!
Ariel: I made her outfit more pink, and more poof!
Jas: Actually nothing really wrong with the original outfit, I just wanted to play around with colors.
Mulan: I loved Mulan's every day outfit! I sometimes prefer that over the matchmaker outfit.
Rapunzel: I shopped the eyes in from the 2nd release, shopped in the skirt design from the 1st release, and shopped out the shoes! She's perfect now....

I used to work in an opium reduction project in Nonghet district, Laos. One day, I found a box containing hundreds of pictures taken by lao staff. I selected and scanned a few of them. These pictures were taken in 2002 or before.
