I've somehow ended up in the semi-finals of a Photo of the Year competition at this blog called Modern Fabulousity. I've never really read it, I admit, but I guess this shot of Sinclair Lewis got into the running and the voting is going on this week.

Rubbish iPhone shot, because it's less obtrusive than a honking great telephoto lens. Also, because I can upload it within hours, rather than weeks. Matt Jones is more timely.
I have five pages of notes. If I can read them again, I might post selected bits. Or I might just let these well-transcribed notes do the job.

Sinclair Centre - Our roving cameraman snapped this picture of the decorative banners hanging in the rotunda of Sinclair Centre in Vancouver. They are very simple designs, 25 feet long, made from Canada red and white nylon with cut-outs and appliques of maple leaves. What is so unique about them? They were made by The Flag Shop in 1995 - and they still look fresh and very appropriate for a Canadian heritage building.
This 1985 Sinclair C5 (if you've never heard of it, Wikipedia it - and you still won't believe it!) was bought from a Cornish junk shop in 1992 just before the launch of UK local radio station, Pirate FM102. It was liveried as one of the fleet of radio station cars as a joke played on one of the station DJs.
