GI C550 calculator on a chip gold & ceramic, seems to funtion simular to the GI C-570 one found in the Royal Digitasl 5-T unit, even down to the fact both chips try to devide by 0 in the exsact same way. I think this is an older variant, hence it was cheap & thus Sinclair used it.
Later units used diffrent chip sets or a cheaper version that had a standard plastic pakage.
The Gnomobile (1936) is Upton Sinclair's only major work for children. Originally illustrated by John O'Hara Cosgrave II, a French edition was released in 1959 with illustrations by Marcel Tillard. Tillard's illustrations were used again for the 1962 English-language edition (seen here).
For more information on The Gnomobile, see my blog post here:

Sinclair began as "Parco" in the 1920's. "Parco" stood for "Producer's And Refiner's CO". The company town was designed and completed in 1925 but by 1942, the oil refining had been sold to Sinclair Oil and the town changed it's name in 1942.

My Sinclair C5, found it lurking in my shed! Been there for a while, time to make it work for a charity bike ride. I know it's not a bike but, it's for charity!!
Motor is shot, no chain, no battery and inner tubes and tyres are shot.
Could be an interesting ride from the Malvern Hills Hotel, round the hills to the Malvern Rugby Club. Sounds fun, almost all down hill. Just discovered the front brake is rubbish and the rear pulls you to the middle of the road!

The 48k ZX Spectrum with its ZX Printer - 25 years old this month. How the world of computing changed in that quarter century yet today people still want the games we used to play on this. Remember, Manic Miner?

Castle Sinclair and Girnigoe...Two castles were on this site at some point and parts date back to the 13th century " the register of the Privy Seal of Scotland vi, 599 states that George Sinclair of Keiss “did throw down and demolish the forts of castle Sinclair and Girnigoe belonging to the said Earle, and broke down the roofe thereof and the doores and windows, drawbridge and iron gates thereof and did pull up the floors and threw to the ground the hewn stone of the battlement. Likeas they did carry with them all the beds, furniture and whole timber work of the severall houses...”.
