The spacecraft simulator system can train engineers - or keen high school students! Thanks to VEGA Germany for a realistic 'sim session' for visiting DoDDS students.
This is an image I put together from simulation data by Marie Martig to go along with the press release by Jeff Cooke. It helps visualise what a superluminous supernova event might look like (the blue stuff is the host galaxy) - which is basically an explosion of magnitude that's hard to even imagine. Well done to Jeff for finding such a gem!

Business Management - BMN301 is the new (started 2011-12) double-semester capstone module, which nearly all Business Management students, plus some others, study. These photographs are of the experimental major simulation exercise, run in the main hall (PK TC007) at the University of Gloucestershire's Park Campus.
I'm using the latest version of the add-on "shuttle fleet" for Orbiter to simulate the upcoming STS-118 shuttle mission. The included AutoFCS entry and landing autopilot is amazing. Here is the starting dialog, requesting a landing at KSC runway 33. The autopilot does the rest.
The aviation simulation and testing center is located in the lower level of the Bill and Vieve Gore School of Business. We are a LaserGrade testing site and we administer FAA written exams, CLEP tests, TSA screening tests, and Gore School of Business make-up exams.

Participants absorbed the role of legislators, journalist, lobbyists and presidential advisers in a daylong capstone exercise to see who can best use political capital to create the best outcome for their group. The IU Kokomo School of Nursing and School of Education, in conjunction with Second Harvest, hosted a poverty simulation in which students try to live for in poverty for one month, condensed into an hour for the simulation. Various scenarios are assigned ranging from a single parent of 5 kids to a single person with no job and no home.
