Just a little fun with spheres. The sphere above each one has a two stud difference between the one below it.

This image illustrates the Bristol VRL concept to its best advantage. Placing the engine longitudinally on the offside beyond the rear axle not only simplified the driveline but also enabled a rear entrance or exit to be fitted. One downside was that a long rear-overhang was required, which wouldn't have been acceptable on shorter chassis. I suspect that there may also have been some weight distribution issues. This is a 36 foot VRL-LL (vertical rear longitudinal-engine, long low chassis), a type that was offered but not actually built. Some very similar 36-foot dual-door (front and rear) buses were built for the South African municipality of Johannesburg on the marginal higher VRL-LH chassis. The bodies for these were built locally by Bus Bodies (SA) to a very neat design with equal-length side windows. My version uses standard ECW windows bays with an awkward half bay at the rear, as fitted to various bodies built by that concern. Interestingly ECW had produced drawings for a 36-foot body to a similar layout on what was then called the Bristol N-Type chassis, but using equal-width window bays. The unusual low-mounted route number was characteristic of most South African municipal fleets (01-May-10)..

The Chinese alligator (simplified Chinese: 扬子鳄; traditional Chinese: 揚子鱷, (yáng zǐ è) Alligator sinensis) is one of two known living species of Alligator, a genus in the family Alligatoridae. It is native only to eastern China.

While its appearance is very similar to the only other living member of the genus, the American alligator, there are a few differences. One obvious difference is that the Chinese alligator is quite small. Usually this species only attains an adult length of 5 feet (1.5 m) and a mass of 80 pounds (36 kg). Exceptional large males have reached 7 feet (2.1 m) in length and 100 pounds (45 kg) in weight. Reports are known of alligators in China reaching 10 feet (3.0 m) in centuries past, but these are now generally considered apocryphal.Unlike the American alligator, the Chinese alligator is fully armored; even the belly is armored, which is a feature of only a few crocodilians.

The Chinese alligator is mainly endangered because of habitat pollution and reduction as their habitat is turned into rice paddies and because of extermination since farmers consider them as a menace.

In several restaurants and food centers in China's booming areas, young and premature alligators are allowed to roam free with their mouths taped shut. They are subsequently killed for human consumption, as in China alligator meat is thought to cure colds and prevent cancer. In China the organs of the Chinese Alligator are sold as cures for a number of ailments. This species is widely regarded as quite docile, but, as with any crocodilian, it is capable of inflicting grievous bodily harm.

I remember a time when I shot bright, pastel coloured images. Super narrow depth of field and with long lenses. Style evolves as we discover more about ourselves through our work. The understanding that how we photograph is more about use than our actual subject comes and everything changes.

I'm happier now with one camera a 35mm lens and my subject. The simpler the shoot the more at home I feel. For me simplification is amplification.

Lion dance (simplified Chinese: 舞狮; traditional Chinese: 舞獅; pinyin: wǔshī) is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture and other Asian countries in which performers mimic a lion's movements in a lion costume. The lion dance is usually performed during the Chinese New Year and other Chinese traditional, cultural and religious festivals. It may also be performed at important occasions such as business opening events, special celebrations or wedding ceremonies, or may be used to honour special guests by the Chinese communities.

The Chinese lion dance is often mistakenly referred to as dragon dance. An easy way to tell the difference is that a lion is normally operated by two dancers, while a dragon needs many people. Also, in a lion dance, the performers' faces are only seen occasionally, since they are inside the lion. In a dragon dance, the performers' faces can be easily seen since the dragon is held on poles. Chinese lion dance fundamental movements can be found in most Chinese martial arts.

There are two main forms of the Chinese lion dance, the Northern Lion and the Southern Lion. Both forms are commonly found in China, but around the world especially in South East Asia, the Southern Lion predominates as it was spread by the Chinese diaspora communities who are historically mostly of Southern Chinese origin. Versions of the lion dance are also found in Japan, Korea, Tibet and Vietnam. Another form of lion dance exists in Indonesian culture, but this is of a different tradition and may be referred to as Singa Barong.

I made a product box and tested it out using this old bold and washer. The picture was good but boring so I decided to have some fun using some Topaz plugins I recently purchased. This is using Simplify.

Todays challenge for the daily shoot was Experiment in the digital darkroom today. Make a photo and post-process it any way you like to unleash your creativity.

So it was a nice day here and we had some things we had to do, but by about 2:30 we were done so decided to jump in the car and go somewhere we hadnt been before and ended up in Snug Harbor Park on Staten Island a lovely quaint little park which we enjoyed a leisurely stroll around, and this is one of the shots I got today

This shot I played around with in Topaz Simplify, the shot in the first comment is how I would normally have done this shot

"Simplified lunch" is, in this case, equal to "lazy lunch."

ODC, March 9, 2022, B-SIDES. The B-side of the Leica M-10D, no LCD, no video. The LCD and assortment of buttons are replaced by exposure compensation "dial", just like the M7. The most "analog" experience I've ever had with a digital camera, opposite the F5's experience. Even includes a "film advance" lever.
