This is my simplicity photo, and what I really like about this one is the slight difference between the green ground and the green tennis ball. To make a contrast between the two I added a streak of light running across the tennis ball, and had half the image still green, so that the tennis ball and ground were more distinguished. I wanted to show how two things with similarities can be vastly different, and I was able to do that with the tennis ball and the ground.

Simplicity Designer's pattern. Informal dinner and afternoon dress. The snugly fitted top has a set in sleeve. Version A has a double collar trimming the wide decollete, and one f these collars is in a contrasting shade. The richly shirred fullness of the skirt begins at the line below the waist, continuing to the front, where it dips considerably. Version A is full length, while Version B is street length, Version A has 3/4 length sleeves, while Version B has plain short sleeves.

Simplicity is an exact medium between too little and too much.

~ Joshua Reynold

I wore a lot of hand-me-downs when I was a kid. This pattern is a few years older than I am, but I had a store-bought dress that was almost identical to the version in the middle. It had red acetate ribbon ties that I hated.

I like the layered-dress idea, though.

I had a dress a whole lot like this in elementary school.

What: Some wild plant with small whitish flowers.

When: This photo was taken on August 21, 2010.

Why: The photo was taken because the simplicity of the plant attracted me.

Where: This photo was taken in my neighbors garden, on the ground floor.

How: Pointed my camera at the flower, zoomed in and shot. It is all natural light.

My first ever made by me dress : )

Simplicity 2702

Fabric - Irish Linen

took in the sides quite a bit and cut six inches off of length.

sewing the corners of the placket near the pleats was a nightmare...

but all and all, it was a good first project

I love the dark blue skirt on the lower left. Versions 1 and 4 are 29" long, the other two are 27".

Later repackaged as 7435.
