I try to remember simplicity is my goal as I rearrange my things in the newly renovated suite. I also try to remember simplicity is not an impossible goal even though the suite is only 328 square feet in size and both Tessa and Sole arrived with a lot of baggage. ;)

The dress has a fitted bodice with lowered round neckline and a gathered full overskirt and underskirt. It has a back zipper clsoing. The lower edge of the overskirt is scalloped. The underskirt in view's 2 & 3 contrast the overskirt and bodice. View 1 & 2 have short, set-in sleeves. view 3 is sleeveless. Tie belt is featured for view's 2 & 3.

This pattern offers several different pieces to sew. The Simple to make style of the sheath skirt has a back, kick pleat. The top has short kimono sleeves. Version 1 has an open front neckline with collar and pockets at each side of the center front. Version 2 top is in contrast to skirt with the collar and front facing the same as the skirt fabric. Version 3 has a high neckline, button trim at the center front and braid trim. This is a great pattern!

This wonderful pattern is for a great 4-season cardigan/jacket suit that I know Jackie O would have worn! The styling is just as classic today as it was in 1962!
The lined jacket has a round neckline, set-in sleeves, flap trim and front button closing with either 3/4 length sleeves or short sleeves. The slim skirt has a side zipper and a back kick pleat.

A modified Simplicity 2599. I added an extra five inches to the length and the ruffles (two instead of three) are twice the depth. Great with jeggings and a gorgeous leather Hobbs belt (courtesy of my sister for Christmas).
Pink dolta spot on grey jersey. Fabric bought for £1 from Saeed's Fabrics, 96 High Street, Walthamstow, London E17 7JY.

'Simplicity'
Shortly after the War Holland Birkett, of the 750 Motor Club, proposed a
low cost racing format based on road equipped Austin Sevens. Jack
French took up the challenge and over a period of five weeks of evenings and weekends Simplicity was built.
The car was built from readily available parts: short chassis, 3 piece rear axle and mildly tuned engine. To obtain greater overall performance the chassis was considerably lightened by drilling in excess of 250 holes ranging in size from 1/4" to 3/4". Boxing of the chassis was achieved by
lattice bracing. Also drilled were the front axle, rear axle tubes, brake
and clutch pedals and handbrake. With the addition of a very light body
the chassis and body weight was 89 lbs. Flattened springs were employed both to the front and rear. The original front axle was an IFS
Unit, but this not being approved by the VSCC it was replaced at a later
date.
The first race meeting was at Ibsley on April 18th 1953 when Steady
Barker won in Simplicity. Over the rest of the season it was driven by
nine different drivers and gained two firsts and two seconds - 7 of the
drivers having no previous experience of racing. Not just built as a track
car, Simplicity would arrive at every event under its own steam, carrying
all the tools and spares that it might need.
6 years later, Simplicity was still able to prove its competitiveness when
in 1959, Jack French set a Vintage Class record at the VSCC Prescott Hill
Climb of 51.95 seconds, a record which stood until 1966.
Very few changes have been made to the original concept of the car and
it is still predominantly as it was built by Jack.
Owners of Simplicity following Jack French being Martin Eyre, Barry
Clark and current owner, Graham Beckett since 2014.
Simplicity is being used in sprints and hill climbs with the VSCC and in
the Bert Hadley Championship with the Pre War Austin Seven Club and
has performed in the Centenary Hillclimb at Prescott prior to being put on display here.

Top-stitched V. 3 and 4 with high round neckline, collar and patch pockets have front zipper closing. The mini-front wrap skirt fastens with self fabric tie ends.
