very simple patchwork on the front. The beige material is cut from an IKEA sheet (the super soft unbleached cotton ones). The back is also from the IKEA sheet. So soft!
The batting is a piece of broadcloth cotton...so this is very lightweight and has almost no quilting. It's perfect for sitting outside as the summer sun sets.
Whitetail Buck and doe, Whitetail Buck rub, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia, USA.
While you may just think of this as another one of my many buck photos (with a doe in the back), this shot is a great simple overview to a lot of what happens in the rut (mating season of deer).
On the tree on the left in the foreground is what's called a rut rub, one of the scent-marking forms of Whitetails. See my friend Larry W Brown's post on rubs: www.flickr.com/photos/lwbrown/5166431534/
And also visible here is a buck guarding an estrous doe, and the cycle of bucks guarding does, does in estrous, and mating is of course one of the main parts of the rut (and the intention of all rutting behavior done by bucks).
So this shot is a nice simple 'natural overview' of the rut.
As we drove back from the Leba that evening, we caught the sun as a beautiful red orb hanging just over the horizon.

And as for this ones, I used the traditional plain recipe for cupcakes. I just needed to practice on making cupcakes before I move on to baking flavoured ones. The second batch came out perfect than the first ones- which overflowed.
