I was impressed by the simple, yet elegant decor of the interior of this little cafe / bistro on the waterfront of the marina in Santa Eulalia. The staff were incredibly friendly and hard working. They had been open for a week when we found them. We tried several other restaurants and kept coming back to this one again and again. It was worth the visit every time and we got to know the manager and owners through our many wonderful meals and time spent at the marina and beach nearby.
When I was a teenager I would visit a nearby park in the early evening if I was feeling upset, stressed, or otherwise just feeling bad. Sitting on the swing, looking up into the stars, I would just sit there, swinging back and forth, thinking about nothing but the quiet.
Today I needed a swing, so after dropping my daughter off at taekwondo I headed to the park and waited for the stars. It was different this time, however. Today was a cloudy, overcast day, so there were no stars to look at. Its still part-winter here, so it was cold, and relatively uncomfortable. Plus, the swing didn't fit like it used to.
I started to wonder about how it is that something so simple, back then, could become disappointing, and whether that was a 'reality' or just my thinking it wasn't as good as it used to be. Then it dawned on me; I could probably find peace and quiet anywhere that I went, if I allowed my mind to go there. So I headed back to my car, grabbed my camera and took a few shots, for posterity.
I'm feeling better already.

I love Kit Kats and usually get a Christmas stocking full of my favorite chocolatey snack. I decided to have a Kit Kat treat one night and left it on the counter. I can't remember why I left it there for a few minutes but I did and by the time I got back this is what it looked like. I knew the only person who would dare to take a bite of my treat would be my hubby. When I asked he said (with a grin on his face) it, "must have been a little mouse."
This is an inside joke with our family that started when our eldest was maybe 2 years old. She loved to squeeze herself into a cabinet in the kitchen and hide from us. One day my hubby heard her in there and knocked on the cabinet door and said something like what do I hear? She replied, "I'm a little mouse!" in her tiny high voice.
My simple joy for this week is two wrapped up in one. The first is the fact that my hubby is a major tease and has a way of making me lighten up. The second is the memory of our sweet little one and her squeaky little voice say, "I'm a little mouse!"

This will sound odd that my Sister-in-law's funeral would be a simple joy. In many ways it wasn't because her vibrant life was cut way too short and she will be greatly missed. So why call this a simple joy?
See the blur of light on either side of the altar? Those are hundreds of candles lit by the lives my SIL touched. She was joy filled and poured out her joy into everyone she met including me.
Another reason why I call it a simple joy is that it reminds me that there are many ways to define family. You see, my SIL is actually the wife of my foster brother. The truth of the matter is my side of the family has been created by adoption, the foster care system, marriage and a second marriage of my grandmother who brought into my life a cousin that feels more like a sister. My family brings a lot of joy into my life.

I thought this frame, did convey the sense of Simple Abundance. The man, a local Banarasi, is clad in the attire he prefers the most of signifies the town the most - Saffron Kurta and a turban. Beside him a vessel, behind him a bag, a stick and a cycle - sort of takes care of most things does not it? Saw him seated near the Ghats of the Ganges at Assi

Lisa hosted a great program that taught the kids how to prepare a simple meal, customized to their tastes. The food was great and they didn't even make a mess!

The boys will be wearing Tommy Bahama ivory silk camp shirt with chocolate brown silk pants. The fabric looks beautiful next to the dress, so I Heuer did good when picking this out.
