Wall to wall torrential rain today...which we need...but editing a splash of colour was much needed.
Relaxing on the beach, looking out at Lake Huron and enjoying the sunset at Port Crescent State Park, Michigan.

So, if you ever want something
And you call, call
Then I'll come running
To fight, and I'll be at your door
When there's nothing worth running for
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to change it
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to stop it
You see, you're just like everyone
When the shit falls all you want to do is run, away
And hide all by yourself
When you're far from me, there's nothing else
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to change it
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point even talking
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to fight it
So, if you ever want something
And you call, call
Then I'll come running

Don't walk behind me; I may not lead.
Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow.
Just walk beside me and be my friend.

The remains of Alberton Court, Manchester. It was in the news recently when demolition was halted due to collapsed scaffolding.
Alberton House was built around 1973. The architects were Leach, Rhodes, Walker.
2025 has seen the demolition of several mid-century buildings. I have photographed three of them, Robin Hood Gardens in Poplar, East London, the Yorkshire Bank Building in Leeds, West Yorkshire, and this one.
With all the storm clouds we have been experiencing during the day for the past few weeks, it always amazes me that by the time it's sunset, most of the clouds disappear! We keep hoping for more spectacular clouds for the sunsets, but the simple ones can be beautiful too.

What do we see here? Logically my old neighborhood the Prenzlauer Berg! It is probably the last autumn photo;) Berlin meanwhile in the snow. And what do we hear? Definitely a band from that time. LYCIA with of course a newer song.

Looking up at a corner of a recently completed building, No 5 Broadgate, in the City of London. It was designed by Ken Shuttleworth of Make Architects in the City of London.
Pero siempre quedará Simple Red y su “Holding Back the Years” ❤️

This build was loosely inspired by Japanese castles in general, although that wasn't what I was intending when I first started - it was going to be a simple star fort. But, it kept on getting taller... and taller...
Build log on my blog, and time lapse video on YouTube if you want to see the "taller and taller" process!

Architektur & Schatten / Minimalismus / Manrique‑Design / Lanzarote
The white wall of César Manrique’s house is crossed by the striking shadow of a large cactus. The bright sunlight creates crisp, organic shapes that contrast beautifully with the green window frame and the simple planter. A minimalist Lanzarote scene capturing Manrique’s signature interplay of light, nature and architecture.
It was simplicity that was the goal of this shot. A rock, a cloud, and the ocean. "Less is more", they say when it comes to life. Until it was discovered that a very wealthy individual coined the phrase, attempting to convince the less fortunate to accept their lot in life.
However, this simple phrase is true in photography. eliminating clutter does remove distractions. This is what the phrase is meant to illustrate. These are the simple goals that any photographer desires.
