Joseline (student from last year) composed this lovely and simple photo.www.empowermentinternational.org
...this year we are keeping it simple around here for Christmas....
On Monday I brought the box (with boxes) of Christmas decorations up from the cellar and I have slowly begun to decorate...I only put 5 pieces so far:
~ the 3 dimensional plywood tree/ candle holder (from Habitat)
~ the handmade reindeer from salted dough (decorated with little details made with golden ink) I made last year during one of my Art&Crafts in English sessions with mighty, little students
~ two ...gigantic woolen socks, tied to the stairs up (not seen here - picture to come)
~ the pair of wooden ice skates which is hanging on one of the window handles seen here
~ and the two handmade angels from Munieca, purchased last year via Etsy (seen in comments)
This year I've decided to be decorating little by little, adding something every now and then until I feel that the outcome is ready. And while last year I created a winter Wonderland as among a few lovely others, wonderful Kirsten from Simply Grove had blogged about it , this year I have a need ofr basics, keeping it simple and an attitude for less is more.
Back before our nation was involved in the COVID-19 outbreak, I was enjoying a sunrise in the Hackensack Meadowlands at Richard DeKorte Park in Lyndhurst. A metal outline depicting a pre September 11th NYC skyline serves as a reminder of the past.
what are your favorite simple pleasures?
"the early winter morning sun gently kissing the blanket flowers on back side of the dunes in the Outer Banks...simple pleasures"
This came with a recent dinner. I was trying to decide what to do next.
Some times fate (and take-out guys) give you what you need.

How simple is simple enough?
I do not know.
I can only tell
My life is a simple one. It’s the life of an ordinary person.
This picture is a simple one. It’s just the picture of a lamp hanging from the ceiling.
The idea of taking this picture was simple. Use a camcorder as a camera. It would be almost like taking the pictures with a low resolution, small picture file, and inexpensive camera. Just like the way most of the photographers take their pictures.
And yet, simple can be beautiful – I believe.
Oh my friends, this Shelter in Place is getting old. I'm ready for the 3 week PJ party to end. It is harder to find simple joys this week and I'm feeling a little down. I'm totally unmotivated to do anything but sit and read a book, do puzzles or watch TV. My family has felt the same way.
One day my husband decided we should all go for a walk. Something we haven't done as a family for a long time. I grabbed my camera and headed out the door trailing behind the family as I took a few pictures.
I'm thankful for this time of shelter together so we can continue to spend time together. I am also thankful that the weather has turned sunny and nice so we can get outside and into the fresh air.
Simple and sexy like Jojo lol. I don't like getting dressed up so I rarely wear stocking or tights or even make-up. Instead I rely on my femininity to charm the folks and the best way to win them over is with a simple but striking little-black-dress like this. It's a bit cheeky for daytime wear but nobody says anything bad as it nurtures respect. I find being positive is the best means of defence as the people who try to belittle us are bullies and bullies are usually just little people with not much bottle. I think the secret to why I have such an easy ride in life is I am just me and the feminity I surround myself with feels and seems right. I'm a very happy go lucky happy sort of person with no attitude as I'm not trying to prove a point either and people like that.
