First registered in 1961, this Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II came in to have its brakes serviced.

The small narrow streets between the tenement blocks of To Kwa Wan at the eastern side of the Kowloon peninsula are full of small car and motorcycle repair shops.

Silversea Cruises ‘Silver Cloud’ left London was tugged backwards up the River Thames by tugs Svitzer Mercia and Svitzer Brunel. Passengers here are looking at Wapping as they are told about the history of the wharfs behind them.

Silversea Cruises, ‘Silver Cloud’ reached Wapping at around 8pm where she was turned 180 degrees by the two tugs before continuing down the River Thames.

At 157m long and 22m wide, it was a tight turn but the two tugs took less than 5 minutes to turn the huge cruise ship, 'Silver Cloud' around. More ship details here: www.silversea.com/ships/silver-cloud/

Facing increasing competition from faster rivals and with development of its ageing six-cylinder engine nearing its end, Rolls-Royce turned to V8 power as the 1960s approached. Introduced in the autumn of 1959, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II and Bentley S2 appeared externally unchanged from their 'Cloud and S-Type predecessors, though the duo's performance was considerably enhanced by the new 6,230cc aluminium-alloy V8 engine. Although wider and shorter than the 'six' it replaced, the new power unit fitted relatively easily within the engine bay, relocation of the steering box from inside to outside of the chassis frame being the most obvious alteration to the previous arrangements. Externally the new models appeared virtually unchanged, while beneath the skin Rolls-Royce's own four-speed automatic transmission was now the only one on offer and power steering was standardised. Immensely successful both at home and abroad, the Silver Cloud II and Bentley S2 remained in production until the autumn of 1962.

As well as the factory-bodied cars, bespoke creations from coachbuilders James Young and the now merged firm of H J Mulliner, Park Ward Ltd (now Rolls-Royce-owned) continued to be available on the 'Cloud II chassis for those discerning enthusiasts wealthy enough to afford them. Indeed, as the factory did not offer a convertible or drophead coupé, a coachbuilt car was the only option if one's preference was Rolls-Royce-style fresh air motoring. Available in both Rolls-Royce and Bentley forms, H J Mulliner's two-door drophead coupé (Design No. 7504) was by far the most popular. Hand crafted style such as this attracted a hefty premium though, H J Mulliner's convertible being priced some 30% above the standard Silver Cloud II four-door saloon, which was already one of the world's most expensive cars. Out of a total of 2,417 Silver Cloud IIs built from September 1959 until August 1962, only 107 had the stylish and desirable drophead coupé body built by H J Mulliner, of which 74 were left-hand drive cars like this example.

Dating from the final year of production, this H J Mulliner-bodied Silver Cloud II drophead, chassis number 'LSAE89', was built to North American specification for Mr George L Jyurovat of Peninsula, Ohio, reputedly a NASA engineer. Special features specified included Sundym glass, electric windows, electric aerial, and a split bench front seat, while mirrors to both front wings were fitted in the USA by Rolls-Royce Inc. Mr Jyurovat kept the Rolls-Royce until his death. In June 1989 the car was sold from his estate, passing to Richard Gorman of Vantage Motorworks in North Miami, Florida.

When auctioneer Thomas Barrett bought the Rolls-Royce from Richard Gorman soon afterwards, it had covered only 20,982 miles from new. Although accompanying paperwork records the sale from Gorman to Barrett, a letter on file dated 15th June 1989 suggests that Gorman sold the car to Mr Charles Crail of Carpenteria, CA. Subsequently the Rolls-Royce passed to the late Don Williams, the highly respected American dealer/collector, Pebble Beach exhibitor and co-founder of the world renowned Blackhawk Museum in Danville, California where the car remained until 2011. It was then purchased by Maastricht-based Bugatti collector Jack Braam Ruben, who sold it on to a Belgian collector. Little used throughout its life, this remarkable Silver Cloud II has covered only 22,430 miles from new over the course of the last 60-plus years.

Offered fresh from extensive recommissioning by Automobile Saey of Beauvechain, this rare and exclusive coachbuilt Rolls-Royce drophead comes with their invoice for €10,408; copies of original factory paperwork; old bills of sale; assorted correspondence; Belgian registration papers; and a current technical inspection.

Now this is my idea of a car!

Why have a supercar you can barely get into and hardly enjoy, when you can have all the comforts of home in the car with you?

One of the last versions of the magnificent Rolls Royce Silver Cloud, this final incarnation, the Silver Cloud III, seeing the design through to 1966. By this time the Silver Shadow was starting to make its presence known on the road as one of the most radical Rolls Royces ever, but the Silver Cloud continued to keep the old world alive.

Entering production in 1955, the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud was built to replace a collection of earlier models, including the Silver Wraith and the Silver Dawn, whilst also being built alongside the Phantom series. A cross between the Flying Scotsman and a Stately Home, the Silver Cloud was built originally for a market that revolved around hereditary money, Royals, Soldiers, Mine and Factory owners, and other families that had made their money in the great Victorian era of Industry.

But unbeknownst to Rolls Royce, as the 50's were packed away, the world changed abruptly. Money was easier to come by, and the margins that had once separated the class system became blurred and distorted. People of lower class backgrounds found their way up the social ladder by way of music and television, and one of the first things they hankered for was a Rolls Royce, the ultimate symbol of success.

And it's not hard to see why, with a price tag of £5,000 the Cloud was the equivalent cost of 10 Morris Minors or a 7 bedroom house. To own a Silver Cloud in the early 1960's meant you had to be someone very very special.

However, the Silver Cloud's old world design kept it very much in the past. Unlike modern Rollers where the body and chassis are built together, the Cloud was built as a chassis first, and then it was up to the owner to decide who constructed the coachwork, be they Hoopers, H.J. Muliner Park Ward or James Young.

This antiquated system meant that Rolls were losing their market, and thus they had to adapt in order to survive. In 1965 the highly advanced and radically designed Silver Shadow entered production, and a year later the last Silver Cloud rolled off the production line, bringing an end to the era of the classic Rolls.

This particular version, the Cloud III, was the first noticeable facelift of the model, with the inclusion of new four light clusters that would eventually be carried over onto the Shadow, a reduction in weight by 220lbs and the fitting of 2-inch SU carburettors in place of the 1¾ inch units used on the Series II Silver Cloud. Although Rolls Royce always kept the power output of their engines a secret, they did disclose that it provided and improvement of 'perhaps 7%'.

Today they're a real rarity, the 1970's showed that rust was no respecter of pedigree and many redundant rollers simply whittled away under the rain. But even so, immaculate examples such as this continue to be found, and this one was certainly a real treat for me and the many tourists who stopped to admire the lines of yesteryear.

Outside Barton's Kegworth depot on 9 April 1974 are Bedford YRQ/Plaxton 1197 (HVO466K) and AEC Reliance/Harrington 979 (979VRR). WMN1, the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud on the right, belonged to Alfred ('Peggy') Barton, who had particular responsibility for depots away from Chilwell. (Thanks to Simon Barton, MD of Bartons plc for this information.)

Dazy drops the paper sack, it lays by her left side.

River Grau wanders over, a grin forming on his lips as he spots Lithia. He wiggles, arms stretching out towards her. "Miss Lithia!" A blink, and then his expression turning puzzled as he notices the unconcious girls on the floor.

Lithia Nightfire walks forward, picking up the girl in red like she was a doll, flinging her over her shoulder if allowed. "I will bring this one to the lab. Do you require assistance with the second one? I can call Mister Wylder..." She asks, not notcing the child behind them yet.

tempestual Parkin grins at lithia, her toe darting out to nudge at the downed pink hybrid, checking she is truly unconcious. "well......that went surprisingly smoothly. Can you carry them do you think? Heavy lifting isnt really something i can do." Stopping, fingers would idly brush down both forms, checking for weapons, scooping up the brown bag as she does so. A fiendish smirk of amusement grows as she considers a new plan. "i can drag.....but not carry, maybe we should make that call?"

Dazy is out like a euthanized house-cat. She has no weapons on her other than her retractable metal claws. They are a wrist brace, and the brace itself is made of leather. The leather can be cut, but the knots are tied HARD as they rarely come off. There is a button trigger on the inside of the brace by the wrist, that would send 8 inch metal claws out.

Bailey Longcloth is totally unconcious, no weapons on her. She'd be a floppy ragdoll if picked up.

Lithia Nightfire pauses as she was walking towards the other girl to look back at River. "River? What are you doing here?" she asked, feeling a bit confused at the moment. She looks to Temp "Mister Wylder is on his way here to assist with the pink one." She looks back to River, holding the girl over her shoulder with ease for now.

tempestual Parkin hovers slightly, uncertain at the odd bracers, they seemed to be nothing more than spiked at first glance. Shrugging slightly, she knew alex would most certainly do a more thorough check than she ever could. Besides.....there was enough sedative in those two to knock out a rhino for a day. Waiting idly, her eyes would dart around the alley, looking for anyone eavesdropping or spting on the scene. Idly re-lading her pistol, a clip of hallucinogens is pressed into place, ready if neccessary to put down the child without violence if possible.

River Grau recognized the teacher from the school, his head tilting. "Uhm.. I'm here 'cause I walked from there," A finger pointing to the doorway into the allies, "To here." It was straightforward enough. His head darting to the other woman, the one he didn't know or recognize. He hears and sees her reload the pistol and he ducks behind the dumpster. "Don't let her shoot me! I ain't do nothin'!" He hisses out.

tempestual Parkin merely raises her eyebrows, settling the pistol back into its holster "shoot you? whoever said anything about that? never leave a pistol unloaded is all." Turning then to alex, she would nod to the downed pink hybrid, clearly insisting upon urgency ,trusting lithi to make sure the kid wouldnt talk about this.

Alejandro Wylder arrived into the alley looking and assessing the scene swiftly. Noding to Temp he moves quickly yet cautiously toward the collapsed pink hybrid, holstering his pistol. With no word he picks her up and puts her over his shouldrs in a fire man's carry and walks behind Temp with her.

Lithia Nightfire turns to River, then catches Alex and Kia fromr the corner of her eye. "Miss Silvers.. would you be so kind to help River here? He is a friend, and I do not want him 'confused' by this..." She nods to River before stepping off behind Alex and Temp towards the lab, as the urgency to leave eas greater than calming him down for now. Perhaps Kia would get her tone when she made her request.

Dazy is tossed like a rag-doll over Alex's shoulders. Her head bobs with his strut.

tempestual Parkin proceeds back to the lab, trusting lithia to follow after, after settling the child. REaching the door, she would slap the control panel, figuring that is as likely to open it as anything with it malfunctioning. Smiling then to alex, a soft purr would show her satisfaction "standard processing procedure please alex, stripped of weapons and into a cell please.....they'll be unconcious for a good long time yet, dont worry."

Kia Silvers (Kimani Silvercloud) follows alex running in these heels was gonna give her blisters. she would pause to look around at the scene taking note that a kid was present. she sees two hybrids were out and takes a step forward towards river ginving him a smile "hey river" she would say lightly

Jaina Lefevre looks over at Abel, her eyes shadowed and dark. She watches him for a few moments in silence, then nods, murmuring. "Tengu."

Kimani Silvercloud "tengu hawk" she says in a slight reply to wha Jai said

Jaina Lefevre: "Pigeon first?" she looks at Rai. Poor Sister D....

Nellie Meads: "Um, the one inch wide ones? You have some ?"

Rai Pawpad listens and nods carefully. "If Nellie likes him, he's okay. She's smart."

Darkness Odigaunt didn't even want to go there... She focuses on the little one and nods, "Sure do. Who needs them?"

Abel Underby taps the other half of the crust against his knuckles. "Are nuns always prepared like scouts?" he muses aloud.

Jaina Lefevre nods and mumbles. "No one is like Sister D. She's got a bag'o holdin' that everythin' comes out of." Leaning back against the wall, she closes her eyes.

Nellie Meads: "Nobody yet, but somebody always does. Look, I got half a bottle of Bactine."

Nellie Meads: *pulls the sample size Bactine bottle out of her pocket to impress sister D with*

Darkness Odigaunt shakes her head, "No, just been in Midian to know what I'll need everyday." She inspects the bottle with a nod, "I can make you guys up a first aid kit... Gotta teach someone how to use it though."

Rai Pawpad wrinkles his nose. "Is that the stuff that tuns your skin red?"

Abel Underby holds up a hand. "I'll learn!"

Nellie Meads: "No, Rai, the red stuff is mercurachromosexual."

Kimani Silvercloud looks at Abel then to Rai "I can do the Oath to initiate him"

Darkness Odigaunt smiles to Abel, "Okay, see me after class Tuesday, that gives me time enough to get a box together... How old are you?"

Jaina Lefevre mumbles. "Not near 'dults..."

Kimani Silvercloud nods and mutters "right"

Nellie Meads: "Yes, but..yes, but...between now and then, can I have *three* bandaids?"

Abel Underby glances back at Kimani and smiles a bit. Then he looks at the sister. "I'm fourteen."

Rai Pawpad looks at Jaina, and crouches down to rub her head. "Not in front of the dults. Don't worry."

Jaina Lefevre yawns and grins at Rai's head-rub and closes her eyes.

Darkness Odigaunt digs out her kit, then looks up to Abel, "Oh, you won't be in my class then, you're in the upper class with Mrs. Bails." Her eyes flicker to Rai, having missed the mutters.

Kimani Silvercloud "you'll be with me!" she says

Nellie Meads narrows her eyes a bit at Kimani.

Abel Underby 's nose wrinkles at the c-word. "Oh.. yeah," he says, trying not to look unenthusiastic. He nudges Nellie gently. "Make sure to remind me on Tuesday."

Rai Pawpad looks up, and his eyeroll at the mention of school could easily be missed.

Nellie Meads: "Tuesday."

Jaina Lefevre makes a soft snuffly noise as her head tips forward and she draws up her knees, sound asleep.

Nellie Meads puts out her right hand expectantly, and makes a 'gimme gimme' with her fingertips.

Abel Underby looks at Jaina, hearing the sound, and chuckles softly. "Guess she's tired."

Darkness Odigaunt turns away to hide a yawn of her own, "Well, it's time for the adult to go deliver a card." She places a handfull of bandages in the girl's hand, "See most of you Tuesday, I've got a lot of baking to do before then."

Kimani Silvercloud glances at Jai poor thing,,,

Nellie Meads's face lights up and she exclaims "Wow! Thank you!"

Abel Underby nods at the sister and smiles. "See you then."

Kimani Silvercloud "good night Sister!" she says grinning

Jaina Lefevre blinks blearily at Nellie's 'Wow' and looks up at the group. "I gotta go to bed. You showed him and stuff, Kimi?"

Kimani Silvercloud nods "don't worry it'll get done"

Darkness Odigaunt pauses, "Is there somewhere I should take her?" She smiles as the girl gets up, "Nevermind. Good night everyone." With that, she heads off.

Jaina Lefevre waves. "Night Sister..." and scuffs her feet.

Rai Pawpad leans over Jaina, patting her head. "You should get home."

Kimani Silvercloud smiles at abel "lets do this before I fall asleep, you have to take the oath of the group"

Nellie Meads stuffs the bandaids into her pocket with the Bactine. She looks at Jaina. "They'll be looking for you, with guns on their legs."

Abel Underby rubs his nose and nods. "Okay."

Jaina Lefevre nods and reaches out her hands to him to get a tug to stand up. "I'm sleepies lots. Didn't sleep so much last night." She grins at Nellie. "Naw...they loves me." She sticks her hand out and waits for the oath thing. "Do this firsts."

Rai Pawpad nods. "Don't speak to no one with guns on their legs."

Kimani Silvercloud "you pretty much agree to watch out for all members and to not fight any of them, even if they are stinkers" she extends her hand so Abel will put his on top of it

Abel Underby nods, putting his hand down on top of Kimani's. "No problem. I swear."

Kimani Silvercloud "repeat after me"

Kimani Silvercloud "I swear not to fight each others 'cause we has meaner, bigger things t'fight. We stick together 'cause we is kids and the 'dults don't understand."

Rai Pawpad puts his hand out. "Even if they're River. Or Conor."

Jaina Lefevre looks at Rai. "My mommies has guns on their legs." She looks at Abel. "We gots ta stick together 'cause there's bigger things." She watches Kimi and grins.

Abel Underby blinks. "I swear not to fight each others 'cause we has meaner, bigger things t'fight. We stick together 'cause we is kids and the 'dults don't understand." He even mimics her tone a bit. She did say repeat.

Nellie Meads grins, puts one foot on top of the other, and looks up at the sky. She looks like she is trying to conceal how happy she is that Abel passed inspection.

Kimani Silvercloud "since we still have to get to know you, you will be a pigeon." she smiles at his repeating skills "and later we'll show you the hide out, but for now this is good, cause i need to go to sleep"

Abel Underby nods. "Cool."

Nellie Meads: I'm too Tengu for my town, too Tengu for my town, I'm toooo TenGU

Kimani Silvercloud yawns and nods "okays, I'll show you the hide out tomorrow, if i can"

Jaina Lefevre stumbles a little. "Gotta sleeps too. Hideout is safe to sleep and has got foods and stuff." She giggles at Nellie's dance and reaches out to touch Rai's arm. "G'night.." she whispers.

Abel Underby chuckles at Nellie. "Is that the theme song?" He nods at Jaina, then looks at Kimani. "Okay."

Nellie Meads: "No, I just made it up."

Rai Pawpad laughs. "You're so Tengu it hurts, Nellie." He grabs Jaina's arm and picks her up. "I'll take you to your moms."

Jaina Lefevre giggles as Rai picks her up. "I can walks.."

Rai Pawpad throws her over his shoulder. "No, you can't. Cause I got you."

The Rolls Royce that time forgot...

Built as the first Rolls Royce product under the new Vickers management after the bankruptcy of 1973, the Camargue was built largely to satisfy the growing demand for larger cars. At the time of its launch in the United States in 1977 (which was two years after the launch of the car in Great Britain), the car was the most expensive car in the world, costing at the time $147,000 (which by today's prices is $588,000). As the flagship of the Rolls Royce line, the car was designed by Paolo Martin of the great styling house called Pininfarina, however the boxy design of the car didn't produce the results it was hoping.

Based largely on the same principals as the American Lincoln Towncar's and the Cadillac products of the day, the angular lines of the Camargue together with its seemingly bland external dimensions meant that when compared to the Silver Shadow and the Phantom V, it seemed very much more Run-of-the-mill, and thus in the end only 531 were built when production ceased in 1986, although a considerable 260 made it to the United States.

Since then the car has often been considered one of the ugliest ever built, although technically it was proficient and did feature some endearing features such as split-level air conditioning and Solex carburetors. However, even though this car is indeed angular and rather drab in its dimensions, it still looks much more dignified than the modern day BMW equivalent Phantoms and Ghosts of today, which for all intents and purposes are just BMW 7-Series' with a forlorn marque on its nose.

But even though this car did fade into obscurity, there still are a handful of them left in existence, many of which had had after market conversions into drophead specifications, but on the roads of Britain and Europe they are indeed a rarity, but the United States still has many rumbling about its open highways in the Berkshires of Upstate New York. :)

My nephew Carl's wedding to Kay in September 2009

David Valentino looks over as the alien child walks up as if on cue, "Hey Jaina..did the UAC kidnap you and throw you in a cage?"

Leor Tobias: "Where was YOUR mother?" she asks Jaina.

Channel Liberty: wotcha'll talkin' 'bout?" she asks quietly as she walks up on the conversation, "wot doctor woz gettin' cuttin'ed?

aina Lefevre skips down the sidewalk, NOT the middle of the street, no matter what lag says. She grins at Rai and moves towards him, then looks up at David. "Uh huh. They did." She looks over at Leor. "Where is yours?"

Leor Tobias: "Mine's in Napal... when the UAC took me she came and got me out... where was your mother?"

David Valentino: And so these UAC folks didn't say why they wanted to take kids?

Leor Tobias looks quickly at David... "Where's Bastian?"

Rai Pawpad growls. "Didn't see my sister anywhere, ether."

Jaina Lefevre crosses her arms and looks at Leor. "Why don't you ask her?" She mutters under her breath. "..old bag..." and grins at Chan. "Hi Chan. Yeah, FIVE soldiers came and tooked Rai and I and dumped us in a cage and that Ass-brink guy tried to scare us and Rai tackled him and I grabbed his knife and we cutted him and he yelled to let us go so we ran." She grins. "He's a pansy."

David Valentino looks over at Leor with a brow raised, "Great..so now they are picking on kids?"

Channel Liberty nods slowly as she listens, agreeeing, "yeah, they jus' think thur all tough coz they gots guns, but ah hit'um with rocks an' they get all scared too."

Rai Pawpad turns to Jaina. "Hey, don't talk about my sister like that!"

Leor Tobias nods to Rai... "I was here Rai... I was here... you sure your phone's working...a dn where was Zoe... I don't get this... Dr. Asbrink took you and didn't take your cell phones?"

Channel Liberty looks at Miss Leor, "that's coz sojurs is stupid, Mizz Lore...if ah take eny catwokkurs prizner, ah'ma take thur phones 'n smash'um!"

Kimani Silvercloud walks or lags on over to where chan Rai and Jai were nodding to all three of them

David Valentino sees another kid appear and starts to get a headache.

Rai Pawpad shakes his head. "No, I called the FIRST time he tried ta take Jai. Day before they got us."

Jaina Lefevre looks at Rai. "Your what?" She looks confused. "Huh?" Fingers rub her head and she sighs. "Was a few days before that. I was almost better when they stole both of us."

David Valentino nods, "So they went out of their way to hunt you down and capture you. How odd."

David Valentino looks at the gathered children, "Well..I suggest you lay low and tell your parents, or what pass for them, about this. And I'll investigate the matter."

Kimani Silvercloud nods and decides not to mention that she has no parents

Jaina Lefevre: "Don't bother." She tells David. "Mom knows and is takin' time off to fix it. And they ain't gonna bother Rai or me or my frien's no more 'cause he likes his eyeballs in his head."

David Valentino nods to Jaina, "Well..that's a good start."

Channel Liberty: is yer mumma a sojur?" she asks Jaina, "mah mumma's are inna police depardament.."

Jaina Lefevre nods to Chan. "One is. Mama Deets is one, Mama Deb is the other." She tugs on Rai's armband. "Wanna go?"

Channel Liberty steps away from the column she's leaning on, looking very curious, "where're ya'll goin'?"

David Valentino shrugs, "Well..I'd stay well away from any UAC types. They might be after any and all children. So that goes for all of you."

Kimani Silvercloud just listens having walked into this converation she fidgets with her tie a bit

David Valentino looks over to Leor, "Shall we go watch the fights?"

Leor Tobias nods... "Yes... and get the fuck off the streets... it's well past your bed time!" she growls then nods toDavid... covering her mouth... "Did Ijust say that?"

David Valentino arches a brow at Leor once again, "hmm..ok.."

Rai Pawpad leans into Jaina. "Yeah, Let's go. I haven't finished the sweep yet."

Kimani Silvercloud moves closer to Jai and says soflty "where you all going?"

Jaina Lefevre eyerolls and turns to look at Rai. "You got a cranky sister." she mutters, then looks up at Kimani. "Patrol. You okay Chan?"

Gemma Tyran finally catches up to Kim, having seen her wave before, her own hand wiggling excitedly as she skipped towards her. "Hi hi hi hi!"

David Valentino: Gods..they are multiplying rapidly...time to head out.

Kimani Silvercloud "you all want back up" she glances at Gemma "hey I thought you were busy" she waves again

Leor Tobias nods and runs away from the children of th edamned

Rai Pawpad nods to Kim. "I haven't covered the bonfire hill yet. That's always dangerous."

Channel Liberty nods, "yeah, ah'm ok

Kimani Silvercloud looks at the two others "I'll see you around, stay safe" then runs after Rai and Jai

Rolls Royce Silver Cloud

Solido - 1/43

An interesting find at the Hilton Hotel (Beetham Tower) in Manchester was this Rolls Royce Silver Ghost, although I'm not a particular fan of the BMW builds, the Ghost is probably my favorite of the troop, seeming a bit more manageable than the bulky Phantom, although functionally it's exactly the same as a BMW 7-Series.

My family are decendents of him (our name is now Simonds). This was changed during the days of "going to church" because our real name was too hard for Anglo-Saxons to pronounce. Thus, my tribe will use our signature but will not let my family in?

In case you weren't aware, November is Native American Indian month in the United States and time is quickly Running Out.

In the 2008 presidential proclamation

designating this year’s National American Indian Heritage Month, the President of the United States wrote, “I call upon all Americans to commemorate this month with appropriate programs and activities.”

Whether your “appropriate programs and activities” are school programs, special events, letters to the editor, blogging, or personal ambassadorship for Native American culture, there’s still time to get involved!

Visit the Native Americans Rights Fund's (NARF) Native American Month Campaign page for suggestions of how to make this month meaningful in your community: narf.convio.net/site/PageServer?pagename=Modern_Day_Warri...

Wherever the rights, culture, or environment of Native Americans are threatened and NARF is there to stand up for what’s right to make governments at all levels respect the agreements made with native peoples.

Many thanks for your support,

John E. Echohawk

Executive Director

Program description:

First Voices Indigenous Radio brings to the airwaves the experiences, perspectives and struggles of Indigenous people who have been almost totally excluded from both mainstream and progressive, alternative media. Our purpose is to help ensure the continuance and survival of Indigenous cultures and Nations by letting the People tell their own story, in their own words, and often in their own languages and ways of speaking. And with as little outside interference and interruption as possible.

As we open up the airwaves week after week to the voices seldom heard in the last 511 years, it is our hope that the newcomers to this Land - that is, every immigrant group - will begin to question their assumptions about Indigenous people here. We hope they become educated and informed, get activated, break down their romanticization, break free of their stereotypes, and begin to form real relationships with Indigenous communities based, finally, on respect and real understanding.

This one hour is devoted to bringing the voices of the Indigenous Peoples of Turtle Island (i.e., North America) and connecting their struggles with those of other Indigenous Peoples around the world. And while never forgetting that standing upon Mother Earth is a great responsibility.

We ask our guests with great respect to do the honor of coming on the program to offer their knowledge, wisdom, and experience, a knowledge that has been handed down over hundreds of thousands of years. It is a responsibility we take very seriously, and we know it is with great urgency that we ask these voices to be shared in this time of changes. We hope we offer our listeners a perspective they have been missing for far too long. The voice America has tried to silence, the voices of Indigenous Peoples.

Tiokasin knows that First Voices Indigenous Radio belongs to all the Native Peoples here in Turtle Island (renamed North America by the occupiers). The responsibilities that can be taught by listening to the real land owners(so to speak) and understanding the knowledge, the wisdom, the struggles, and the unheard voices .

It is said that if the lies continue about Native peoples it will create an illusion that all Americans will dearly pay for in the future...and the future is now. What kind of world are Americans creating with their privilege of denying Native people's voice and the reality of truth that Natives experience daily.

Tiokasin's global perspective reality is the experience of living with and understanding these two worlds - Indigenous and non-Indigenous. The teachings of the Lakota are profound and relevant in the universe today! Lakota knowledge empowers through inclusion, by teaching responsibility of choices. This contributes to an emerging world, affecting the environmental/Mother Earth issues we as human beings ponder when it comes to what it means to be civilized.

ROLLS ROYCE EN EL RESTAURANTE LA BARONIA

Ever wondered what the pre-war British roadster was?

Well this was it, the Rolls Royce Phantom and its derivatives were indeed the must-have luxury car that people would escape to the country in on their weekend. Built to replace the Silver Ghost, the original Phantom I was launched in 1925 and became an almost immediate success, marrying go anywhere power being produced by a 7.7 Litre Straight 6 engine with style and luxury of incomparable proportions.

The Phantom III was the last of the Phantoms to be built before the outbreak of World War II, constructed between 1936 and 1939 with 727 produced. The major difference between this and the original Phantom I was largely the changed bodyframe and the much larger V12 engine, producing 7,300cc. This car was the first Rolls Royce product to be given a V12 engine, this move not being repeated until 1998 when a V12 was placed into the Rolls Royce Silver Seraph.

The car was featured primarily in the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger (one of my personal favorites), where its body is used to smuggle gold across Europe whilst being pursued by 007 in his Aston Martin DB5.

Silversea Cruises ‘Silver Cloud’ left London was tugged backwards up the River Thames by tugs Svitzer Mercia and Svitzer Brunel and passes the MPU in Wapping (closely).

Seen on a 1964 ROLLS-ROYCE Silver Cloud III Saloon. These rear emblems weren't used on the US-market.

I didn't expect to find a classic car in the street such like this. In 2018 I would find her again in one of the most distinguished shopping streets of Amsterdam-Zuid.

The Silver Cloud series was designed by J.P. Blatchley.

The 1955-1965 Bentley S-series was very much alike. The Silver Cloud was followed up by the 1965-80 Silver Shadow.
