It was a beautiful day for a hike along the East Coast Trail. This view of Signal Hill was taken from a point between Freshwater Bay and Blackhead. The entrance to Signal Hill and St. John's harbour, in the distance, is several miles away from where this photo was taken.

With the sky a brilliant blue above the thin cloud layer in this shot, was able to get some vibrant colours using the polarizing filter.

Another part of the time-warp of the railway at Clacton. The scheme to re-signal the area was deferred due to the normal lack of funds, but is now expected to be done in the early 2020s.

Under direction of Signal Foreman Ray Monty, the Capital gang frees 14L from the bridge base at Oakley Avenue at Tower A2. The 4 light color signal stands right behind, and with some testing will be ready to serve westbound traffic on #3 main by daybreak.

Batley signal box by the Down Main line alongside Lady Anne level crossing. Sunday 23rd October 1988

Lady Anne Crossing signal box was a London & North Western Railway Company type 4 design that opened as a non block post in 1878. The signal box was upgraded to a block post in 1952 and a replacement reconditioned McKenzie & Holland Number 16 lever frame was installed in 1957. The signal box was renamed Batley and the signalling was controlled from a British Railways York individual function switch panel from 17th April 1966 allowing the closure of Dewsbury No2, Batley West and Birstall Junction signal boxes with the lever frame being reduced to 4 levers at the same time controlling the wicket gates on Lady Anne level crossing. The panel fascia plate was replaced and switches replaced with Westinghouse M5 pattern and some functions rearranged on 6th May 1990 in connection with the opening of the Dewsbury Down Loop. A new overlay has been provided at some time since. The signal box was fitted with uPVC window in the mid-2000s

The Columbus East Olympians were victorious 28-27 over the Bishop Dwenger Saints in a game of huge momentum swings. For the season, Columbus East finished a perfect 15-0, while Dwenger finished at 11-4.

Traffic Signals tend to bring out the Monkey in us all!

Oddingley signal box, which is believed to date back to 1908 and situated between Stoke Works and Abbotswood Junctions on the main Birmingham to Bristol main-line, is one of the few surviving relics of a by-gone age on this route. It, too, will soon be discarded into history as it is due to close once the Bromsgrove re-signalling scheme becomes live. This was scheduled for between August and November 2015, but a later date is now likely, which means that this superb example of Midland Railway architecture will survive for a few months more. Nowadays it controls just the level crossing on Church Lane, which is approached from Oddingley village by a narrow hump-back canal bridge. The crossing keeper operates the gates by a key which interacts with the signalling centre at Gloucester which controls the route at this point. Since there is no signalbox at East Grinstead the Kingscote signalman can release a token by pressing the plunger. The galvanometer needle mooves to show that a token can be removed.

Two NS units split the classic signals at Duplainville as it roars west towards Portage. I wonder how much longer the classic signals will stand...

I also took inspiration from Scotnick1's signals, they aren't completely the same, but the main design is similar. This also allows me to easily interchange the colours on the actual signal part.

I've always loved and looked out for this signal box whenever I come to Brum. It's a work of art to my eyes.

The 40+ forest fires that are burning in Montana made for a very red-orange sunset on the evening of August 15th. The setting sun splits the two heads of this intermediate signal on BNSF's Big Horn Subdivision. This intermediate is between the sidings of Benteen and Dunmore. Unfortunately, no trains came along prior to light disappearing entirely.
