Project Sight for Sightless, a CHI initiative to fund eye care for children in rural India, has been amazingly successful. Since July 31, 2012 we have trained 124 teachers, conducted vision checks on 7036 children and referred over 700 children for further treatment. Early detection helps prevent blindness. Thank you for your support and making a huge impact in the lives of these children.

Dad's cat Mollie stays hidden most of the time. It was time to eat, but as you can see, she's weighing the hungry feeling in her stomach against her horror at my presence between her and the food.
**Sadly, our pretty Mollie passed away on February 25, 2008 at age 10. We miss her very much.
This is a fairly typical sight on the river.
The efforts to rehabilitate the Pasig seem to focus on relocating shanties like these. To me, however, these shanties are like the canary in a coal mine. That so many of the very poor settle on the river's banks is a measure of how bad the water is. Those who can afford to live elsewhere do.

Sitting on the ground at our local Easter charity event (Oak Ridge Horse Show and Bullride) to grab a few shots, I caught the attention of one of the show's participants. From the look in his eye and the speed in which he approached, I'm pretty sure it wasn't a social call he had in mind.
