OSEA NH 090 a Van Hool bodied Bedford YMT dating from May 1980 was found at Deryneia, Famagusta, Cyprus on October 6th 2021. This coach was an import from the United Kingdom where it was registered NMJ 290V. New to Trina Tours, London W.C.2.

I moved in for another shot after my transportation take at the junk yard. This is about as industrial and back woods as Longmont gets. I thought the composition was pretty good but once again I needed to keep the threatening sky in it's present gloom. That took a mask and some careful work.
A great sky developed today, ending days of terrible skies, snow and finally, sprinkles. At least our yearly snow pack made it up over 100% if the upcoming days of heat don't melt the last load too soon. This area was what I found when I walked along a defunct siding just off the branch line west to Lyons now used daily by the Burlington (originally Burlington & Missouri River) rock train. This was an extension of the Denver, Longmont and Northwestern narrow gauge built by the Denver, Utah & Pacific. There were two quarry branches and the remaining cement plant spurs at Lyons. It's possible the GW RR used the siding even though they were east across town. I assume that the spur down the line serviced nearby industrial/agricultural sites. I need to look this site over again when good skies abound. I have paid my dues in waiting considerable time for this sky.
Somewhere along here, I assume the old grade of the Longmont, Middle Park & Pacific from Longmont directly toward Left Hand Canyon and the foothills to the west of the highway north from Boulder, Colorado was located. I have never found it other than west of town. Obviously, they fell a bit short of their goal of the Pacific Ocean. They fell short of their goal of Middle Park, Colorado which would have entailed an impossible crossing of the Continental Divide. And it fell short of its goal of Jamestown (and/or Ward), Colorado. The grading did achieve the Left Hand River Valley and through the very best fortune, rails were never laid on the grade. The canyons uphill from Jamestown are a choice of bad and much worse grades. They lost just a fraction of what they easily could have. Another grade that never saw rails to Longmont was the Denver & Pacific that claimed a junction in north Denver that was subsequently fought over by other rights of way.

3/5/19 - I came across a card of photos from our Okeefenokee Swamp - Winter Break Feb 2018 camping trip... (last year) wow, time flies. Here's to wishing it were that warm right now. As I upload these photos it is 10 degrees outside, -3 with windchill.

I was rather surprised to spot this Mercedes-Benz 190SL here, not a common car around here at all, anywhere... Definitely a 10 foot car though with some rough bodywork, but it's still a 190SL!

must get a good shot of these roos' fighting - it is a pretty intimidating sight when two big reds go toe to toe ~ I'll be up a tree :-)

The idea of not having my sight is very scary to me, as I am a very visually based person. Luckily besides some short-sightedness for which I wear glasses or contacts I shouldn't be worrying.

Sound for Sight is raising funds and awareness towards Sightsavers’ work eliminating the World’s leading cause of preventable blindness, trachoma.
Trachoma is a bacterial infection linked to inadequate water and sanitation and passed on by flies. It is referred to as ‘neglected tropical diseases’ and can be prevented and ultimately eliminated entirely.
The Sound for Sight audience will be taken on a spectacular sensory experience during the show that has been carefully curated by Sound for Sight Founder, Laura Westcott and ‘Mo Pleasure’ the former Music Director of Earth, Wind & Fire.
Charlotte Kelly, Soul II Soul
Charlotte rose to fame in the mid 1990s as one of the lead singers of British R&B group Soul II Soul, with hit songs “Back to Life” and “Keep on Movin”.
Charlotte was born blind at birth with no sight at all in her left eye and virtually none in her right eye.
“I am very excited and delighted to perform at Sound for Sight because being blind from birth, sound is one of the most important tools we possess as blind and visually impaired people. Denise Leigh
Denise made her operatic debut in 2003 by winning Channel 4’s Operatunity and playing the role of Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto at the London Coliseum.
Since then, Denise has sung all over the world and was honoured to headline the London 2012 Paralympic opening ceremony.
Both Denise and her husband Stefan (who will accompany Denise on piano) are visually impaired with a visually impaired son.

Mo Pleasure
Mo is a renowned multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer. Mo began his professional music career playing bass guitar with Ray Charles. In 1993, Mo became a member of the legendary group Earth, Wind & Fire, and ascended to become the band’s musical director from 1994-2001.
Mo has performed with Stevie Wonder, Nile Rogers, Bette Midler, Roberta Flack, Amy Winehouse to name a few… He also played keys for Michael Jackson on his final comeback tour at the O2.
Dave Swift
Dave joined Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra in 1991 as his resident bass player, and has played with him ever since! He is one of the UK’s finest, high-profile bass players and boasts a musician’s portfolio that is second to none, having played for an array of renowned artists, from George Benson and Chaka Khan to Eric Clapton and Paul Simon.
Professor Dan Reinstein
Dan is a pioneer in laser eye surgery and Founded the London Vision Clinic. He is also a very talented saxophonist and often accompanies Mo Pleasure at London’s iconic 606 Club.
Georgia & The Vintage Youth
A 22 year old Essex Girl with big blonde hair, a spine-tingling voice and a master of the retro jazz/swing style of music that is both vintage and fresh (hence the name of the band).
Georgia’s sound is contagious and subconsciously gets you tapping your feet, whilst her ballads are stripped back allowing Georgia’s strong and iconic vocal to make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.
Joe Slater
A 22-year-old lad from Liverpool who blurs the lines between Blues, Soul and Rock ‘n’ Roll whilst taking inspiration from The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen and Oasis.
