Day 114 ~ 365.2015
Week 16 Theme: The Spaceship, Hiding in plain sight fueling up and just why do you think your electric bills are so high.
I have warmed to this 'eco-friendly' livery, which on first sight seemed somewhat over the top. The darker blue is certainly an improvement on Arriva's more usual Aquamarine (turquoise). The Volvo 7900 is a very stylish vehicle, which is fast becoming the benchmark for single-deck hybrids. In reality, Arriva North East's Coastliner service 308 is worked by ten Volvo B5LH hybrid double-deckers in a similar livery. I am grateful to Keith McGillivray (Flickr user KM_Edinburgh) for the use of his base image. Look out for further interesting variations in Keith's own Flickr collection (21-Nov-13).

No trip to RSPB Ham Wall is complete now without a sight of Little Egret, Great White Egret and Glossy Ibis. Such an amazing place and great that its on my doorstep,
Chase Thomas, a local citizen from the Farmville, Va., area, looks down the barrel of an M-240 Medium Machine Gun that was mounted on a UH-1 Huey helicopter as part of a static display during the Marine Corps Community Day at Farmville Municipal Airport Jan. 14, 2012. The 24th MEU organized the event as part of their Realistic Urban Training exercise (RUT) to thank the community and highlight the capabilities of the Marine Air Ground Task Force. The RUT exercise is scheduled from Jan. 5-20, and is meant to allow the Marines to conduct off-base training near the town of Farmville to prepare for their upcoming deployment.

With mechanical percussions, bristling synths resembling locust drones descending upon rotting fields, a voice made from barbed wire emerging from a storm of reverb. Isak Hansen has released tracks on labels such as Strange Therapy, Total Black, Moral Defeat, Rengaine and Instruments Of Discipline.
Not a great photo but SOO Ex-MILW GP40 2057, CP GP40-2 4609, and SOO GP38-2 4434 leads a lengthy transfer freight from the BRC. Today, this unit is not running with the CP anymore as it now operates for a different railroad down near the St. Louis, MO area.

Ulsterbus (Armagh) 2291
Chasis/Bodywork: Volvo B9TL/Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini
Registration: PEZ 7291
Seating: H75F
Date New: February 2008
Where: Market Street, Lurgan Town Centre
Service: Goldline Service 270 Belfast - Monaghan via Armagh
Additional Comments:
A very unusual sighting yesterday was Gemini 2291 on the 7 day a week Interlink Ireland service (270,271) from Belfast to Monaghan via Lurgan, Portadown and Armagh.
The display states Galway as an advertisement of the ongoing connections from Monaghan.
An unusual choice given that the Geminis are restricted to 50mph and a significant portion of the service operates along the motorway.
The 270 and 271 generally are strictly allocated Irizar i4 Goldline coaches (Most often 1047 Monday-Friday), with it even being rare for one of the older (but superior) Sunsundeguis to be released onto it.

This is such a rural image - what more could you ask for beautiful weather and some perfect models :D
One of the highlights of our visit to Venice was a gondola ride. We saw many narrow, back-alley canals. We even had a singer doing some Italian favorites.
A Southern Ground Hornbill strolling through The Kruger National Park, South Africa.
It is a rare sight because in South Africa, where most studies on the species have been carried out, it is listed as Critically Endangered!
The Southern Ground Hornbill is characterized by black coloration and vivid red patches of bare skin on the face and throat (yellow in juvenile birds), which are generally believed to keep dust out of the birds eyes while they forage during the dry season.
They are quite fascinating to watch, having a very stately, deliberate gait and rather superior "expression". When gathering food to take back to their nest they will carry a beak full of insects around which they will carefully put to one side if they spot another tasty morsel (perhaps a large spider or grasshopper). They will pick up the new delicacy, then carefully rearrange all the food items on the ground before picking them back up and stalking away.
