Greater Kudu (Tragelaphus strepsiceros) female. One good thing about the dry season in Africa is that you can see 1000s of beasts. You also get the feeling that these animals just 'stand out' against the background, but in may cases it is not until these animals move that you see them, especially when the leaves come back. For the animals that are prey - it is pretty clear that sight and sound are important such as this kudu.
Some thirty/fourty years ago, stork nests were a common sight on telegraph poles and chimneys in Štajerska and Prekmurje regions of Slovenia. Today there are very few and far in between. Even if you see a nest, it's usually abandoned. So I was quite lucky and very happy to catch the sight of this stork family. Immediately parked beside the road and clicked few shots.
Storks are territorial and usualy build a new nest on the remains of last-year one. Hence their nests sometimes grow to gigantic proportions.
This one also has another tenant - the little sparrow on the wire is nesting in the underside of the stork nest.
Too bad no one believes anymore that storks bring babies to people. Perhaps we'd take better care about these magnificent birds then...

Mine arrived yesterday and I must say that I am very happy with her.
Her hair is very stiff (like concrete! ;) but the style is very nice and the gel used is good- you cannot see marks from a hair net, it does not flock and there is none of it on her face.
While some fellow collectors find the fashion and especially the shoes and jewelry in combination with the fluffy dress too edgy, I must say I love it. I mean, hey, who really wants another Sunday dress with flower print for their dolls?? One of the reasons why I nevr got a Tonner doll is that their ensembles are mostly way too conservative for me.

This is the Sight and Sound theater in Branson Missouri. I really screwed up the dome on this one.....oh well.
motionless woman staring into empty lot. i watched her for at least 15 mins. after walking past, stopping, looking back at her, walking further then turning back to investigate. when i left she remained silent and still, entranced with arms up, held close, braced for something.
