The instant Thanksgiving dinner was over we darted outside to give our brand-new outdoors outlets a spin. Holiday lights! Bokeh! EEEEEEEEEEEE!
2011 division from Judy's sideyard, blooming in pothead. Transplanted to the ground in front of St. Francis.
This spring I've been working on redeeming my side-yard garden, fallen into neglect these past few years. I'd dug from the corner of the house down to the overgrown thicket of monarda.
This afternoon Mac discovered five small reasons I should dig no further.
On a related note, my daughter is now in love with five cute little baby bunnies.
The other echinacea plant that I put in the side yard is not echinacea at all but black eyed susan. It seems that I purchased many mislabeled flowers this year, but that's okay. I love black eyed susans too.
I love this deep orange and burnt orange...I had a few packets of som Varigated Nastursiams and it's fun to see who comes back each year...
This little house finch was sitting pretty in the sideyard apple tree. Colorful, and fluffed against the cold February day. sf
I followed the string of lights like a trail in this shot of our blue spruce during a snowy December evening.
The other night when Chris was taking out the trash, he found this Little Tikes "Cozy Coupe" in our sideyard. It was pretty dirty and we had no idea where it came from!
Turns out it was dropped off by my brother-in-law who found it in their backyard. We gave it a good wash and Jack loves it.. especially the gas cap.
Top view of the unknown fungus in my yard. I didn't actually touch it but the top appears to have a spongey appearance. It has a dark ring around the edge and a slight raised bump on the top where the stipe is.

Our 65-gallon rain barrel. We have a 50-gallon one on the other side of the house. They both catch run off water from the canales. Both are full right now from the afternoon showers we've been having for the past few days. Of course I haven't had to water because of the showers. I am curious to see how they will work with a hose attached because obviously there isn't going to be the same pressure that a faucet has.
Hydrangea from mom, and new camera from mom, since the old camera has finally given up after 11 years. So thanks!
