Sideshows at the Seashore, Coney Island; Brooklyn, NY

This is a $2 Simpsons figurine that I bought years ago at a local supermarket. I'm not a huge Sideshow Bob fan but I thought that the sculpt was just so spot-on I had to get it.

I took this photo of the 12" figure made by Sideshow, then edited dit.

Went a little different with this one being the world's tiniest elephant. I'd like to revisit this idea in a full blown illo sometime, complete with a home made of household objects.

I think I need a painting break. Time to cut rubylith for a new print instead!

It's tempting to post many photos of David performing his acts; I've decided to narrow it to three. David works with balls, bowling pins, a unicycle, ropes, and something he calls a Chinese yo-yo. He keeps talking, and builds comedy into his act.

He emphasizes that he's not a magician! David describes his work as a little sideshow and a little vaudeville.

Ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing.

Sideshow Spike with several modifcations. First the coat has been wired in all the hems. Second the crap "Buck" body has been replaced with a Hot Toys True Type body. And third the Sideshow "jeans" (aka baggy black pants) have been replaced with Saturday Toys jeans.

A sideshow at the fair. The picture was adjusted to match the mood and music of the fair. The picture was first given a touch of the Ortons, then a duplicate of the Orton layer was added via the color mixer.
