This is my facial rash, the primary side effect of the new panitumumab anti-cancer drug I'm getting as part of my chemotherapy treatments.
The pimples and redness came on shockingly fast (as they are supposed to), mere days after I received my first dose of the drug last Thursday. They're worst on and around my nose and on my forehead, although they extend up under the hair on my head, down my neck, across my chest and shoulders, and onto my upper back. My health is the height of my frustrations. So many issues revolve around Thyroid malfunction and in my case, double Thyroid cancer with total extraction. I'm a few years removed from surgery, but still deal with the frustrations of not having health care (another frustration in itself - I'll spare you all) and not knowing if I am cancer free or not. But this medication, that I cannot live without and all the side effects I endure from it, frustrate me daily. The glasses represent one side effect of the medication, my extreme blurred vision of print and details. The photo was taken on a scale to represent the severe weight issues as well... This could go on like War and Peace, so I'll resist and stop here.
